I Let You In

I let you in, I've only myself to blame.
I let you in, I'll never be the same.

Expecting the same old lore,
I was captivated by much more.

Foreign speech did enter my ear,
but the tale told was to my heart clear.

Thoughts and ideas began to swirl,
involved I became with this boy and girl.

Something within was certainly evoked,
for emotions and feelings they poked.

With their plight I did relate,
don't we all burn for a soulmate?

Oskar's days were full of dread,
bullies tormented and entered his head.

Upon Eli's face longing did reside,
her nature a reminder to flee and hide.

From the offer of a cube a bond was born,
one which I shall never scorn.

Caught off guard by Eli's growl,
never once thought her foul.

Poor Jocke deserved not his fate,
but an insatiable hunger his blood did abate.

Gosta's witness became to him haunting,
but the counsel of friends seemed too daunting.

Short and long made walls talk so,
a question of go steady made hearts grow.

Parents wavered by lack of concern,
for their affection Oskar did yearn.

Hakan's incompetence brought his demise,
an end most gruesome to these eyes.

Virginia's heartache caused tears to swell,
on her back the curse of the vampire fell.

Trials of acceptance and trust did rear,
flowing blood and an invitation made love clear.

Lacke indeed was consumed by sorrow,
his own will took his tomorrow.

Fear of discovery forced Eli's flight,
more than two hearts broke that night.

For Oskar a malicious trap was revealed,
by wrong choices the fate of bullies was sealed.

Salvation from more than drowning was Oskar's suprise,
as he peered into familiar and beautiful eyes.

Aboard a train I believed the tale to have a happy end,
little did I know the journey did just begin.
