This is my first try at writing. It is set about thirty years after Oscar is turned. And what happens when they target a man living alone, who works for a research company.
The Dark Princess
1. Opening
It was many years after Oscar was turned that our story begins. Eli and Oscar had been sizing up a lone house for about too weeks now; the house was situated about 5 miles from the nearest village and about a half mile from the motorway. They were interested because only one man appeared to be staying there. So at about 10 o'clock on Tuesday evening they decided to strike. They went up to the front door dressed as hitch hikers and knocked. After a while a man about 40 came to the door.
Could we come in we have lost our way..
The man looked at them and because they were young he said.
!.Ok.
Once in the house the man asked if they would like a drink but they declined saying they had already had a cup of tea on the road.
Well, put your bags down, and come on into the living room.
Is any one else staying here at the moment ... Asked..Eli
No.. I work here during the week and I stay at home during the week end it is convenient as the facility where I work is only 2 miles away.
Eli scanned the room but stopped at the side table, it was covered with strange models.
It looked like a toy set. In fact it looked like a futuristic toy set with models of strange craft with short wings and one bigger one with a long extension and some thing on the end of it.
That’s what I'm working on at the moment... Do you like it...?
I've never seen any thing like it before,,, Said.. Eli.
Are you going to fly them.in the garden? (Eli thought they were toys for playing with)
O…No... They are models.. The real things will be very big and assembled in low orbit for exploration of deep space.
You mean out side this world.
Yes said the man, are you interested in the science of outer space.
Eli had not given it a lot of thought being bound up with survival all the time.
Eh.. Eh... They are very interesting models..
Well if you’re in the area you could drop into the facility and have a look around. (He took them to be young students who might do a school project)
Eli tried to visualise outer space and what the strange craft would do, but realised she didn’t know a lot about outer space. But what an interesting job the man had.(Just like her puzzles)

What is that one for'?...asked Oscar
That is our project craft for deep space investigation; at the moment it is to be robot controlled because to use people they would have to be put to sleep and that technology is not at all viable in the foreseeable future. The idea is to send the craft on a very long trip say 30 40 years to far distant galaxies to collect data about the further reaches of the universe. But nobody lives that long to fly to far distant galaxies and back. We’re talking about something that our children will benefit from. If you’re interested you could come over to the research facility tomorrow and see for yourself.
The man thought they were science students or would be in the future especially the girl she was very inquisitive.
Can’t come tomorrow ...Eli blurted out with out thinking,
Then not knowing what to say
Maybe Tomorrow..Eh, I mean, evening..
The evening is not normally possible but tomorrow is different we are having a celebration; one of our colleagues is retiring. You could come as my guests..
That does it Eli thought I’m supposed to be getting ready to attack him and here I am making an appointment for something else. But….I quite like him. Doesn’t seem like the type to attack. I’m very querulous about the work he is doing maybe we could leave here now and find prey elsewhere.
Oscar asked how big the facility was and if they had any life size craft there
We don’t have life size craft, but many on-going experiments.
Eli thought I really have to see the place maybe they will have super puzzles there could be anything. She made up her mind they would hunt else where tonight may be the outskirts of that city about 20 miles away and return here to sleep in the garden shed in the day time. Then turn up with their bicycles tomorrow at about 7 in the evening just after it gets dark. They got the directions and after looking at a map set off to hunt afresh.
The next night they went to the facility on their bikes. The security seemed to be expecting them and let them in. They cycled into the car park and stopped out side the main entrance where they caught sight of the man from the house. He greeted them at the front door and showed them all round. He explained the various experiments and showed them experimental apparatus they were using. Then he went on to explain about the odd shaped craft how the biggest one was for deep space exploration but was on hold at the moment because nobody lived long enough to fly it. They had envisaged robots but they were not feasableas yet. The idea of putting people in sleep was at the moment only science fiction.
Considering the voyage would last from 50 years to get anywhere in outer space. It was the main stumbling block for them. After seeing all of this, they were not puzzles like her puzzles but they were a sort of higher puzzles and lots of them. All she had done in her life was exist like a rat hiding all the time and killing people. Except worse than rats because rats don’t kill people.
Then Eli had an idea, her self and Oscar could live indefinitely 50 or 100 years would be nothing to them. The only problem being a supply of blood. And of course how to tell the man what they really were, what their real nature was. She thought for a while and consulted Oscar, They both decided that Eli would give him a small kiss just enough for him to understand their predicament.
A couple of nights later they turned up at his house and knocked at his door
Can we come in ...asked Oscar..
Of course you can, you don’t need to ask.
They went into the living room and after sitting down. They said they had something to offer for his project.
Yes he said.. And what could that be in a very nice tone of voice
(He thought they were going to suggest a school project or something)
Then Eli burst out with... We will volunteer to fly your ship.
At this he smiled and said, Firstly your too young...
Eli stood up straight and looking him straight in the eye, said
But were not really what you think...
After a while Eli realised they would have to prove it to him, give him a little kiss, just enough to let him know the truth. Eli suggested what she intended to do. He looked surprised but eventually agreed like he was agreeing to some fake magical party trick. She walked up to him and gave him a little kiss it was just enough. He stood and stared into space. He looked stunned for a while as if he couldn’t take it in. Then after a few minutes he said.
I would never have believed it, and you really want to go on the ship. It would be a great way to give something back and solve our biggest problem. But how would you eat there would be no humans on board and any supplies we put on board would not last.
Eli sat silently for a while,
That laboratory, surly you could invent some machine for recycling
Yes that is a possibility...He said
But it is a very great opportunity…said Eli... and a great opening for the project
I will have to think on it... He said thinking deeply.
2. THE FLIGHT
Eli thought that is one of the really super puzzles... That is how it all started and about twelve years later they were on their way into space. The project started ok and every thing went to plan. About 30 years out they discovered some faults but nothing that they couldn’t handle. At about 35years communication was becoming a big problem, they hadn’t been able to communicate for about a year but they thought they could solve it.
Then they had their first major catastrophe at about 55 years out. They came too close to a pair of suns one larger than the other or they didn’t have data enough, but the gravitation was way stronger than they reckoned with. The ship veered off course and while they corrected it they had to endure terrible turbulence. They came out of that with some serious damage, the tail which was quite long, became disengaged and broke off and it supported the main engine. They were in a sort of free fall. All they could do was manoeuvre with the small manoeuvring engines; they managed to get into orbit around a dead planet of the big sun.
After a month in orbit they noticed the smaller sun had an odd orbit it only through light on the dead planet about every six months.. They repaired the ship as best they could. The life support systems were ok as were the viewing screens and most of the investcative instruments, but the means of communication were down for good, as most of the equipment was stored on the back of the ship on the long extension that supported the engine.
They orbited the planet for about 45 years. Time was nothing to them, but the ships systems including the life support were very important. The ship itself was in a bad way it was only a mater of time before something serious malfunctioned and they would either starve to death or be burned alive by that big sun. They discussed this many times but put off ending it by opening the escape hatch and burning up in the suns rays. Come to think of it that was not an option anyway as the hatches were all seized. Oscar always came back to the same thing we should have turned back ages ago. Mind you they had seen great sights and had a great journey except for the fact they were now well and truly stranded and destined for a bad end.
They kept their spirits up by making sure data was been collected on the surrounding constellations in fact they had an enormous amount of data on every thing they encountered on their travels.
One day, (if you could call it a day as the ship was constantly blacked out to make it into a continuous night) when they were busy rewiring one of the viewing panels. Eli heard a strange sound coming from the adjacent room, the room they normally sat down to eat in (I mean drink) and sleep in!..Then .another...
Eli stopped what she was doing and walked slowly over to the door and peered round,
What she saw shocked her, Was she seeing a mirage.
! Oscar come here quickly...
Oscar came over, she waved at him to be quiet, he slowly looked round the door and saw…….a man,,,, dressed in a suit about 35 years old sitting at the table rummaging through his bag.
Eli froze to the spot as she starred at the man it must be a mirage but Oscar could see him as well. The man looked up and casually said..
How are you getting on with the repairs?
Eli said nothing but something was happening with her. She could smell his blood and the monster within was not interested how he came to be there but that he was there a real live donor.
3. Special Blood
Oscar could also smell the blood, delicious after so many years, just existing on recycled stuff this was the real thing, His facial expression started to change only Eli soothed him he was going too turn into a monster. Then the man said,
Come over here and have a seat.
They hadn’t had time to plan an attack they were very surprised so they just obeyed. Eli's hair was a constant tangled mess as she didn’t bother with wearing any thing fancy. They both sat down staring at the man all the time. He took too antique glasses from his bag and placed them in front of them. Eli looked at the glass in front of her.
It’s very nice, but any glass will do we drink with straws.
What’s on your mind right now....
Eli.. Lied...and said,..! Nothing in particular.
But in fact she was thinking of Blood. Then she noticed something about the glass in front of her. Some thing small was moving in the bottom of her glass.....Then it grew bigger.. Eli didn’t have to examine what it was….She could smell it..
! BLOOD!
The glass was filling with blood before her very eyes, real.. Fresh blood.. She focused on the glass as it continued to fill. Every fibre of her body became alert...Oscar exclaimed
There is blood in the glass, and with that she put the glass to her lips and started to gulp down the blood as if posed.
Oscar had less control his face had changed his hands were now virtually claws and he just sucked the contents of his glass dry,
But then the glass continued to rise.
Eli continued to pour the blood into her mouth in a continuous swallowing. They were behaving like Monsters (They were monsters)
After what seemed like a long time they put the glasses on the table. To take a breath.. The blood stopped rising... They were now fully in the power of the monster within. Their eyes were all blood shot, just as if they had attacked some one. It took a good 15 minutes for them to settle down and return to normal.
! Pretty untidy meal. Said the man...all that gulping and slurping... you certainly got plenty ...all over your self as well...
They both just sat there staring into empty space for what seemed like an eternity.
Then Eli fixing her gaze steadily on the stranger and said..
It's the monster inside us, it takes over when were eating we have no control.
Well, I'll have to leave now...Putting the empty glasses back in his bag.
I'll be back in 3 hours.. And with that he got up from the table and walked straight out through the wall...
4. Strainers.
They felt wonderful….actually it was an absolute feast
Eli and Oscar couldn’t believe their eyes. Then Eli ran to the viewing screen and switching it on, began looking on the outside and down to the planet below but could not see any trace of him or a space craft for that matter.
Oscar said…….. It’s some sort of magic trick but I sure as hell liked that drink
Eli thought for a while and said…
Let's get cleaned up we want to look decent if he returns.
After they had a shower and put some presentable cloths on they decided to investigate the planet they were orbiting to see if they could unearth and clues as to where the man came from. They set to work with all their instruments that still worked. It was only because of what they were that they were able to exist so long on the now stricken ship. There was no day time only night time on the ship, as there were no windows only viewing screens which allowed a person to see images of what was on the outside-only much dimmer in fact very dim for the two little vampires that were using them. About two hours passed and they were busy getting ready the instruments for use on the renewed exploration .Oscar suddenly had the odd sensation as if someone was watching them. He turned round from his work and saw a man the one that gave them the blood and an older woman were standing in the doorway.
Well I'm glad to see you are keeping busy…You look much healthier now that you had something to eat. ..But you won’t find what you are looking for with those material based instruments. said the man
Who are you and where have you come from. .Said Oscar..
We come from that dead planet that you are preparing to investigate right now.. Except it is only dead to your eyes, Said the man.
We are a much more advanced civilisation than you are for we have spent time developing our selves instead of developing what is out side of ourselves like robots and machines etc. Time and space, you do not understand as yet. I could explain all ………day long but your minds are not developed enough for you to understand. If you think back through history to a cave man and a modern man trying to explain space travel/radio/A mobile phone etc. what a reaction he would get. You are like Stone Age men in outer space. Your minds are only partially developed but to your selves you think you are fully developed. So I won’t try to explain. But if you think of outer space, there are so many suns not to mention planets hundreds of billions there has to be life out there, both lower and more advanced. There are many things believed by your race but cannot be proved by material based machines. You can only understand things with yourself not with machines..
That is not to say machines are not useful, it only depends how they are used, by whom.
The Woman began speaking. She was quite different for a start her eyes were very intense. She spoke much slower and much more specifically. She seemed older but you couldn’t quite tell.
We have been observing you for a very long time and are aware you both have a very –rare- condition which allows you to live a very long time (but not indefinitely) also you don’t digest nutrients to be able to live normally. So you have to steal the blood of ordinary people to survive. Which causes them to die or become infected themselves? Also the sun is a big problem Hence this ship is blacked out permanently and only very dim at the best of times, you never experience the sunshine; you live a subterranean life always hiding and running away from people. In fact you live a life of a lower creature 'you live like rats'..
We can and have the technology if you want to call it that, to put you right but we need to know if this is what you want.
Eli had a quiet whisper to Oscar and then turned to the woman and Declared….
'Yes' we would love to be free of this curse which was put upon me a very long time ago.
Well we can put this right in you but not as they would do on earth. You have already drunk the blood that was our blood; it is part of the cure. We only need to affect your psychology a little bit to obtain the desired result. You will still have the monster in you but you will be able to control it more easily.
But said Eli, how shall we eat on this ship, we are stranded.. we will only be doomed to a slow death. If you cure us now we will have no food and will die of starvation.
Yes said the woman… You are a long long way from home by your time calculations, but by ours you are only about 5 minutes .
That’s impossible ………..said Oscar.
We shall see said the woman. Now you will need a rest, lie down for a little while and allow things to work in you.
5. Return.
So Oscar and Eli made their way to the sleeping quarters and lay down for a rest. After a few moments they felt a great drowsiness and fell soundly asleep. They were asleep for only five or six minutes when a certain sound. A big clanging noise that seemed to emanate from some where out side the ship and woke Oscar
He wasn’t quite sure what he heard so he decided to investigate. He got up as quietly as possible so as not to disturb Eli and went into the control room. Once there he proceeded to switch on one of the viewing screens. It just showed a very dim grey light was obviously having the same problem the other one had earlier, so he tried the next one to it. The same problem. When he tried a third one it was the same thing again. At this he was gripped with fear obviously the ships viewing system was developing faults. He quickly woke Eli and explained the situation. She hurried to the control room and after looking at the wiring for the control of the viewing panels she said turn on all the panels they can’t all be broken.so they switched on the remaining screens only to find they all emitted the same dull. grey light…. Eli went over the controls for the screens again then she noticed something, they were all turned down too low for the light outside. She proceeded to turn them up slowly.
Let’s check the position finder …said Oscar
Going over to the main console. When he read the instrument a look of astonishment went over his face...As far as these readings are concerned we are at an other location
O wait ….said Eli .. We can turn up the viewers .a lot more the light round here is much lower.
…So they turned up the viewers and low and behold they were in a new orbit. There was no mistaking it
When Oscar looked,,, he was fixed to the spot.
It’s the earth exclaimed Oscar. That’s rubbish said Eli.
But the instruments readings showed us deeper in space 6 minutes ago, and now we are on the outskirts in fact the present readings confirm that is the earth, we are presently orbiting.
..! .It can’t be real…!…The Earth.
When they checked the instruments again it was true, six minutes from when they left the other planet until they arrived here. .With no information recorded…. just a blank. They just stood there and stared at the monitors they just couldn’t take it in.
A few moments passed and Oscar pointed out something on one of the viewing screens, it was growing larger it seemed to be emitting light; they couldn’t quite make it out. Then after a little while. They saw two other craft coming in their direction. They watched for a good hour as the craft inched their way towards them. Oscar said if only the radio equipment was operational we could communicate. As they approached they realized the other craft could not see them as their ship had no windows. One of the ships circled round their ship a couple of times and finally came to a stop just out side an escape loading hatch.
We could communicate with them through Morse code.
Good idea Oscar.
We can use the lights on top of the ship to send a message that we are here.
The reply came…How many are you
Just us two…
But the hatches are all seized up
That’s ok we will use cutting gear and fix and air lock
Shortly after that another craft came into view and fixed a frame seal over one of the old hatches. When it was secure they waited for back up to arrive with cutting gear.
Eli went to the corridor that led to the hatch to check if all was ok. When she was there she noticed the door.to the recycling plant was ajar just a little. This was quite a big room that housed the equipment for their food recycling. It was odd because it had to be closed all the time to avoid temperature fluctuations.
She shouted out to Oscar
You left the recycling door open…
No I didn’t….its self-closing…
Eli went in…She was completely taken back, because the room was empty except for some old filing cabinets and a desk.
! Oscar..Oscar come and see this, the recycling room is empty..
Oscar ran from what he was doing and came and stood in the middle of the room.
This is astounding… It must be them they want to hide the fact of what we are..
Oscar mentioned about the strange noise where it seemed to be coming from. Could that be anything to do with the room being empty? A high pitched sound like water under pressure started from the vicinity of the hatch. Eli went back into the passage that leads to the hatch they were working on (or should we say their robots were working on) after a few moments a large crackling sound and the door of the hatch just fell inn. Eli was very curious about how they would cut in, but it turned to fear as light flooded the passage and Eli. She was immersed in sunlight to late to do anything she felt the heat of the sunlight all over her she was definitely about to burn no time to run or hide. She stood dead still for about thirty seconds then she noticed that feeling the sun on her was pleasant in fact very pleasant.
Then the penny dropped
I’m not going to burn
She waved her hands in the air and shouted..
Oscar…Oscar… we are free.. Really free.
But Oscar was nowhere to be seen..
Eli ran into what was the recycling room and found Oscar hiding behind the desk..
Come on out…Oscar ..She cried.. We are saved
The sun doesn’t burn me
Oscar looked at Eli in total disbelief
Come on out.. Look just put your hand out into the sunlight just a little bit you will see it won’t burn..
Oscar put his hand out just a little it didn’t burn. He looked at Eli standing in the full sunshine, and decided it’s now or never. With that he stood up into the bright light. Felt the lovely warmth on his skin. Then flung his arms around Eli. A few moments later a voice could be heard coming from the passage to the new airlock.it sounded like it was coming from some sort of speaker.
Whoever is in there, could you come and assemble in front of the new airlock
Eli an Oscar walked out into the passage hand in hand. They could see the new air lock it was all new metal with some sort of door in the middle.
How many of you are there?.. A voice cried out
Just the two of us
What happened to the rest of the crew?
There were only the two of us from the beginning.
You will have to go through the air lock by your selves The air quality is a bit iffy and we would have to put on suits and equipment if we went in. Do you have any lights there it is terribly dim.
On the other side of the airlock were two women and the pilot. One of the women was looking at the monitor. O my,, come here and look at this. It’s two children in there and they are so adorable especially the girl with the black hair she is a real princess. The other woman looked at the monitor and gasped when she saw the two children. That little girl she is realy lovely but she looks a bit strange there is definitely something about her. I would call her……
! The Dark Princess ! Then they spoke into the microphone again.
Stand in the air lock and push the big green button
So Eli and Oscar got their things together including their box of puzzles and trinkets. They walked in to the air lock and pushed the button. A door closed behind them and after a few moments the door into the craft slid back to reveal the interior. It was brightly lit. They had to put their hands over their eyes until they were used to the light
6. Atmosphere.
A message appeared on the tale print -screen. You are to take any survivors back to earth as they must have injured hardship on the crashed craft. We will investigate it further later.
. They then walked out through the new hatch and in to the waiting transit ship waiting to carry them back to the earth. When they were aboard they were shown two seats and told to strap them selves in as it can get quite bumpy on re entry. A few moments later the air lock was closed and the craft drew away from their old ship. This was the first time they had seen their ship from the out side and really it looked battered with the tail extension missing it was a wonder they ever lived in it for so long. But the bright light was what caught their attention. The earth as they had never seen before it was truly awesome really beautiful. They started to descend to low orbit then the entered the turbulence it was rough but the view out side was breath-taking. They could see other craft both descending and ascending as if to mark their route through the sky.
What are those other craft we can see with the flashing lights;;
O there only bots, I mean robots you get quite a few round this part of the planet it is to guide spacecraft and cargo going to and from space.
A little while later after they passed the turbulence the were flying or should we say gliding above the clouds and Eli was starting to stretch out in the lovely sunshine
I could really get used to this Oscar. It’s been such a long time in reminds me of back home before all this happened. But I never ever had a view like this it is wonderful.
Oscar was making notes in a folder which he had recently taken to carrying around with him.
What are you writing? Said Eli said jokingly..
It's only a diary.
Look said Eli there is the foot of Italy, and Spain
And N Africa. Said Oscar. .I wonder where we are going to land
They flew on eventually passing into some clouds and when they were passed them they were much lower much nearer the ground. and they could make out mountain ranges and rivers it was a lovely clear day. As they descended even closer they started looking out the window to try to see where they were going to land, but no where looked like an airport or even a space port. Eventually they got quite close to the ground about 20 feet but they couldn’t make out anywhere that looked suitable for landing. After about 5 minutes they noticed some strangle shaped buildings some high rise and others low. With what looked like car parks all around, the craft had dropped to about 5 feet and presently it entered the area of the tall buildings with many car parks, but in stead of cars there were all sorts of shapes and sizes of space craft parked there. The craft came to a very low hover and maneuvered on to a landing bay and settled down there. The craft seemed to glide and hover with small wheels used only to manouver on the ground.
7. Eating.
Shortly the doors opened and the pilot said
Well here we are kids, back on land again.
For the captain and his crew members considered them to be kids about 11/12 years old. He didn’t know why they were on the crippled ship but supposed their parents would be found later either hiding on the ship or on another. There were a lot of Pirate ships out in space and that must account for it. From the craft they were collected in a very strange vehicle. I suppose you would have to call it a bus of sorts and it brought them to one of the high rise buildings not far away. They were greeted by a bald headed man quite jolly. Who asked them their names and asked if they would like something to eat. Eli and Oscar hadn’t thought of that, and not knowing what to say..
Said …………eh yeh ok
For want of a better word to say
I bet you two have quite an appetite.
He didn’t continue because they were under strict orders not to talk too much to the children. That would be done later. The chap lead the way into the lift and they got out on the second floor and walked across the hallway into a large room with many tables.
Take a seat the waiter will be over shortly.
They sat down but Eli didn’t know what to do so she relied on Oscar
Let’s go over to the counter and see what they have got
So they both got up and went over to the counter. It was an open counter to encourage you to pick what you liked. They started looking at all that was on offer. Oscar started to order then he noticed Eli was staring at some thing behind the glass. It was the smell of the roast beef that had attracted her attention Oscar gave a broad smile and ordered roast beef for both of them
When they got their meals to the table and had sat down .Eli looked perplexed and had to no idea what to do. Oscar took her knife and fork cut a piece of the beef and put it in his mouth and started to eat. He then gave the knife and fork back to her and said copy me. Eli very awkwardly got a piece of meat on her fork and put it in her mouth. When she experienced the taste she suddenly knew all about eating what a pleasant experience. The meat tasted really good and the smell of it was delicious. She finished what was on her plate and amenity went to the counter for a second helping. When she returned and continued to eat Oscar leaned over the table and whispered.
Eli people are watching you
Why would that be?
Because you are growling. It’s quite funny really
She looked up and the canteen staff were all watching even a man sitting two tables away was looking. She continued her meal but with only a very low purring sound. She was getting up for a third helping but Oscar stopped her.
It looks too odd were supposed to be children. We will eat later in the day
After dinner they sat at the table and looked out of the big windows on the large area with many different craft scattered around. There was another craft, a bigger one than the one that brought them to earth coming into land, it just glided down and across the grass and came to a stop over a landing pad. No wheels could be seen .Just then the man with the bald head came out of the lift and said
If you would like I'll show you your rooms.
He took them to the 19 floor into a bedroom with 4 beds in it and said
Put your things down there. You can have a good sleep to night. Make your self at home.
8. Final word.
They stayed at the complex for three days in which they explored the whole area and the buildings. They had time to play on the swings just like 12 year olds would. After breakfast on the 3rd day the bald headed man came to over to their table and said.
The boss wants to see you this morning, about you’re getting on board that stricken ship
They had formed the idea that they were the children of a group of grownups space pirates who were hacking into the surveillance systems and stealing ships. Who were going to use the ship as living space for some sort of illegal activity .It was a problem at that time for ships to be attacked and taken over. They went to the 7th floor and were shown into an imposing room used as an office. There they were greeted by a middle aged man with an army suit with medals on the front.
Have a seat… he said pointing to two seats opposite the desk.
When they were seated he said
We have completed preliminary investigation of the ship you were on. But one question is outstanding 'How did you two manage to get on board. Where are the grown ups who were with you.
Eli said….No we were the only ones on the ship.
He looked at her, she was only about 12 that was true, but she had an air about her she seemed to be more than you could see. She was really beautiful but at the same time she seemed dangerous.(you would be extremely concerned if you met her on a lonely road at nigh) he couldn’t put his finger on it. She was a lot more than she looked
And your names are Eli and Oscar.
Yes…. They both said together
Oscar seemed to be quite a nice boy with long blond hair with only a hint of something unusual. He had a folder in his hand and was busy making notes

Eli took stock of the situation he was the head man here She allowed her gaze to rest on him a few moments. Then she stood up and gazed into his eyes. He was about to say something but then became as it were mesmerised. Walking up to the desk she leaned over put her arms around him and kissed him he did not move a muscle it lasted about 2 minutes. Then she let him go and returned to her seat. They just watched him for a long time with his head forward as if he were meditating.
What have you done to him.? Asked Oscar
Just then the man raised his head and said
We can’t tell the truth you couldn’t possibly tell the truth no one would believe… You would be put away… We will have to make up a story. We’ll say you boarded the ship with adults to hack into our survey systems, But when we spotted you. Every one had to evacuate quickly but left you two children on board..
That sounds fees able …said Oscar..
Very well I’ll take you upstairs where were having a meeting about the ship. He led them into the lift and took them to the eight floor. There he went down a long corridor. He then opened a set of imposing double doors and into what looked like an area for relaxing, a club for senior staff. In the room there were lots of people waiting to see the two survivors which they had heard a lot about. When they saw the two children they all smiled.
Here are the two children rescued from that stricken ship. We have ascertained that they boarded the ship with their parents and others as a base for questionable activities. When we saw them and decided to investigate they had to abandon ship quickly. The two children got left behind. We found the ship had no power to move.
Eli was looking at the people when her eyes fell upon an older lady sitting further back than the others. She briefly looked away... It couldn’t be. Then she looked again…..The lady on the ship with penetrating eyes, except her eyes looked ordinary now. But she was the same woman. How could that be? The official conversation came to an end and Eli said to. Oscar.
That woman over there. She is the same woman we met on the ship
Yes it is very odd…But I think we are going to see a lot of very unusual things from now on.
Then the man who had brought them into the room said..
But what about you Eli. What do you want to do with yourselves the man said with a smile on his face.
Eli piped up enthusiastically
I would like to ride a motor bike, a black one like those old American harl...or something.they are called..
The man started to laugh
You mean you want to become a 'Hells Angel'
' Ha Ha Ha. You would make a great 'Hells angel' indeed.

You really look the part.
After the laughter died down he asked
Oscar what he would like to do.?.
I would like to write a book, and the man cut in
And it will be fiction wont it.
Of course said Oscar..
Then Eli started to laugh and giggle,
And we all know what that will be called.
We really want to have fun and then after that. I want to be a scientist, only not your kind.
