Blessing of the Night

I, Oskar, declare unto all who would listen what the night brings to me.

The grace of the night blesses me with my Eli and allows me:

To know the joy of darkness full and the dread of morning light.

To know the love of one centuries old yet forever young.

To feel her breath upon me and the soothing rhythm of her heartbeat when I
awake during our daytime slumber.

To see her beauty outlined in the darkness by the gentle light of the moon.

To see the silhouette of my guardian angel against the stars as she takes flight.

First Thirst

These aren't my characters. (Wait! Some of them are now!)
They (The best ones!) may belong to someone else, but I love 'em enough to write about them.

First Thirst - an LTROI Fanfiction
by covenant 6452

This is a continuation of my fan fiction. It takes places 3 nights after the events of "Winter's Cold Breath" on the outskirts of Sundsvall.

Oskar's skin felt tighter. Stretched across his face and neck the tightness pulled at the skin across his shoulders.
He needed something and knew what it was, but tried hard not to think about it.

Chapter 15 - Redemption

CHAPTER 15

Back and forth.
Back and forth.

Eli paced from one side of the shed to the other. Then she sat down for awhile. Then she stood up and paced some more. Then she cracked open the door a little and peeked out. Then repeated the whole thing again.

Hungry. So hungry. Like itching inside my veins. It was maddening.

Her Onyx Wings

Forever will she be this way
A child hunting for her prey
Murdering the world around
Upon her onyx wings

My savior, her hand rests in mine
The pact we hold is love sublime
A necessary companionship
With her, I shall remain

We are each imperfect beings
Distant fringes of society's meanings
My existence lives alone
Beside her tattered smile

Her acts I never can repay
For her I will remain enslaved
And hold this love until I burn
In her immortal light

And until this mortal pulse has died
I shall never leave her eyes
For my flesh and blood remains
Beside her onyx wings

Oskar asks Eli if she's a vampire

Somebody's knocking at the door. Nobody knows I live here. I hope. Could it be a salesman or something? Trust me, whoever you are, you don't have anything I want.

(MMmm...)

No, bitch, not now. You left witnesses at the last meal! You didn't kill what you ate! That's bad. That's very bad, but maybe nobody knew who I was. Hakan died to keep this place a secret, did things to himself I can't imagine, and then you go and do something like that? And then you want to eat right here where I live? You're an idiot.

Like that's news, huh?

I don't want to eat. I'm too tired to eat. I'm empty, really really empty, but you can't hunt down and find what I need. I'd sleep if I could.

Wait... that's not knocking. That's Morse code!

Chapter 14 - Gone Awry

CHAPTER 14

GONE AWRY

Oskar stood, shivering, and stared at the mausoleum’s open doorway. Beyond the building’s roofline, the brightening of the eastern sky heralded the approaching dawn. Before him the pickup truck idled softly, vainly awaiting its driver’s return.

He felt stunned by an enormous weight, precipitously dropped upon him. In less than a minute, his life had been irretrievably altered. He tried to gather his panicked thoughts.

NOTHING - a poem

N O T H I N G

Piteous
Nameless neighbor,
Accursed wastrel, who
Like the uncanny vixen
Lanky, skulks unseen the
Unkempt periphery of settled life.

Enfant terrible,
Spectral, savaged gelding,
Long ago infected
With a loathsome lineage of bite and night
Disconsolate, despised
A life two-centuries lifeless.

I mourn for you
Unwelcome orphan
Who like an ancient,
Chthonic goddess,
Was cast away
Mutilated, damaged always,
Forever in famine -- never satiated,
Left ravening for floods of blood
To fill her toothy maw

My Oskar

Oskar, You are the answer which my soul has been
longing for.

How could I have fathomed that my salvation would
come to me bearing a puzzle of colors?

The warmth of your kindness has melted the icy
barricades within and awakened my hope.

Your unyielding acceptance causes me to fear the
loss of that which I have found and find precious.

Your sincere embrace gives my mind reason to
tremble yet causes my heart to leap.

Too many scores have passed since I knew the
sun but in you I know true light.
