Re: Control over the infection: Eli v Virginia

As for Eli's experience and control over the supernatural aspects of his infection, the book gives a few hints, for example that it almost doesn't hurt any longer to think claws, just a tingling. This gave me the impression of an Eli coming to terms with his infection, having developed a way to liv...

Re: Control over the infection: Eli v Virginia

You disagree, no surprise there. But you are wrong. Just because the Red Cross won't take your blood every month doesn't mean you haven't replenished. 20-50 days, with the mean being 36. Eli isn't worried about the liability that your local blood bank is, so yes it is entirely plausible. Well, I th...

Re: Control over the infection: Eli v Virginia

I agree that it would be too expensive to buy blood if she paid everyone as much as she paid Tommy. It's like she's a normal 12 year old when it comes to appreciating the value of money. But the Vampire Academy solution is feasible. There are millions upon millions of fans of vampire fiction. Some ...

Re: Control over the infection: Eli v Virginia

My conclusion is that Eli and Virginia are about equally able to fight the infection, given a sufficiently strong incentive. Except that Virginia believes that she is a danger to Lacke, while Eli knows she won't hurt Oskar . It's kinda moot since Virginia suicides, like most others who have had the...

Control over the infection: Eli v Virginia

As I read LTROI for the third time something really struck me. Eli has control, not the infection. Maybe a symbiotic relationship. But Virginia says she has no control over the infection. Virginia knows she will kill Lacke. But Eli just as she's about to take Oskar, stops. Eli says she will never hu...

Re: 12 Worst Attempts to Americanize Foreign TV Shows & Film

I didn't like any of the American Godzilla remakes. The 90s garbage was worse than the current one, but this one isnt anything to write home about.

Re: I finally finish Little Star. (Spoiler)

Just finished it, myself. I'd read in a review of LTROI that his was the superior book. I can't recall where or who, but he couldn't be more wrong. Little Star pales in comparison. I lost sight of the characters' motivations. I liked the story, I suppose. I identified with Teresa.
