Re: Eli's Androgyny
I said this on other post about Eli acting more like a girl due to being castrated. I dont agree with this at all. In the book Eli is very aggressive. To telling Oskar to fight back. In there first meeting when Oskar calls Eli stupid Eli confronts him and Oskar backs down. When there playing in the ...

Re: Questions about Eli before the infection
Eli didnt eat candy because she lives off blood. Her body would reject anything else. Just how a Lion wouldnt be about to eat grass. It is interesting that in the movie she tries it only to make Oskar happy. While in the book she flat out rejects it. As for Eli bathing I think over the many years El...

Re: Things you didn't like about the book
A couple of things I wanted to point out. I forgot to mention in the book how Eli holds Oskar from behind. Befour I married my lovely wife I did date alot of girls in high school. And they all loved to be held from behind. Either while standing or in bed. Its a dominate position, and felt it spoke v...

Re: Things you didn't like about the book
I think the most topic discussed on this site is Eli Gender and how she sees her/himself. From my point of view Eli dose not want to be viewed as anything. Eli says that shes nothing. Not a boy, a girl, old, young, etc. Eli simply "is". The movie made Eli a androgynous vampire that leaned more femal...

Re: The Opening
What drew me in was the haunting music. I think it comes on when Oskar takes his hand off the glass.

Re: A bit of mystery about our infection
Never thought about that....my infection...could be lots of reasons...could be one. The movie...actress perfectly shows what its like to be a creature who lives outside of time, and shows the awful loneliness of it. The book goes into the depth and psychic of not only being a vampire(which is bad en...

Re: The Scene That Didn't Quite Work
The only problem I have with the scar scene is that it wasent explored more as an issue between Oskar and Eli. When I first saw this scene I didn't understand its meaning in till I read about the character on line. The more I read about Eli the more I wanted to know about this complex character. Let...

Re: The Scene That Didn't Quite Work
The scene that didn't work for me was at Eli apartment when Oskar becomes upset over Eli giving him money. There should have been more anger and frustration on Eli part like in the book. I wish there was more overall dialog between Eli and Oskar and at least two scenes that were in the book: Attack ...

Re: Newbie here - couple of questions
To answer your question I don't think Eli was raped in the physical. But mentally she was. This is clear when Eli says "I will never be hole again" I seem to remember the novel I bought having Eli fearing she'll never be whole again. Yours differs? If so, it'd be a curious thing for her (him?) to b...

Re: Newbie here - couple of questions
Welcome, welcome! I two am new and love The infected. Were kinda like family here:) I saw Let the right one in followed by the Novel a week later. I was so amazed by both master pieces that I could hardly wait for Let me in. Let me in is a good movie on its own but I would not put it in the "Let the...
