Re: Is this the new coming of Kurt Cobain?

I don't think so. Kåre's a good singer and a great guitarist from what I've seen, but he doesn't seem to carry the angst that Cobain did.

On a somewhat related note, shouldn't you be flying around New York City so high like you were my baby? :) Your login is my favorite New York Dolls song.

Re: Why is Eli a girl?

There have been several good points raised, many of which are plausible explanations. I would add that I think it's important to consider the time Elias was born (and vampirized) in as well as the circumstances and possible reason for his mutilation. It's a bit of an archaic word, but when I read th...

Re: Kare Hedebrant

Hedebrant is pretty much the two words hede and brant combined. For pronounciation of hede you can listen to the pronounciation of hedestad What brant sounds like . Hedebrant means heath-steep or something like that.. Yes, you roll the "R" just like in his first name. Perhaps you should try it with...

Re: Kare Hedebrant

Okay, now that that's settled, how about the last name? I figured at first that there was nothing to it and it would be pronounced exactly as it looks to my American, English-speaking eyes. I was thinking "head-uh-brant," but after reading some of the responses, I'm not so sure. Is it "hey-deh-brant...

Oh, yeah, I like that one too! But "Gloria" will always be my favorite Laura Brannigan song.

This reminds me of a Joan Jett song:

Re: The Name Game

Just some info: Jocke is a nickname, possibly his real name is Joakim. Lacke is a nickname, too. I've no idea what his real name would be, though. Gösta is a proper name. It's actually a dialectal form of Gustav, but it's generally viewed as a proper name in it's own right. Cool. Thanks, metoo. Any...

Re: The Name Game

Dude... dude ...one of the first rules of being Infected: NEVER watch the film with the English dubs. Talk about doing yourself a disservice. LOL Seriously, though, the English dubbing of LTROI is probably the worst dubbing job I've ever heard. You're right to be annoyed by it; it shows you have ta...

The Name Game

If you ever watch the movie with the English overdub, you'll notice that some of the names are changed. Jocke becomes Jack, Lacke becomes Luke, and Gosta becomes George. I find this annoying because I don't think we're under any illusion that this story is taking place in England or the States. It's...

Re: IMDB "Gay" discussion

Classifying Eli's attraction to Oskar entails making assumptions about how the combination of forced castration, 200+ years of isolation, and enduring the company of the worst that society has to offer might warp the human mind. Do you have experience with any of these? What about a combination of ...
