Re: Deleted scene online
All he had to do was drop that last bit of dialogue and cut to Owen asking, '"Who are you?" and kept what I think was the most pivotal and haunting scene in the movie. After Owen discovered the picture and than his reaction to the picture, the scene would have defined Abby's desperation in choosing ...

Re: Reason for movie
Considering he was in panic mode and in a hurry lends to mistakes he wouldn't normally make. I think Hakan was a screw-up as a killer from the start. According to the book, I'm sure he says that he had only procured blood for Eli on a couple of occasions before they came to Blackeberg. In fact I th...

Re: Reason for movie
Hakan displayed the type of devotion toward Eli that doesn't develop over night. And the way she touched his face and looked in his eyes seemed to represent a lengthy history between the two of them. To me, Hakan had been procuring blood for Eli for a long time and was beginning to lose his edge. A...

Re: Reason for movie
I thought Hakan's screw up put Eli in a precarious situation and the rules changed for her. Oskar was going to have to be the one. Wow, I know this isn't a popular position here, but you make Eli seem so evil. For me, Hakan's death sequence and Eli's subsequent visit to Oskar was the times Eli acte...

Re: Reason for movie
One thing for sure is that Hakan was definitely not portrayed as a pedophile. It wasn't even hinted at. You couldn't help but to conclude he was once like Oskar unless you read the book. Eli was walking that tightrope between good and evil throughout the movie. The wounded animal trap she laid for ...

Re: Reason for movie
Well as you said LMI played up the successor angle which means that Owen might not do everything that Hakan does but the future is definitely mapped out for him more than in LTROI. Therefore Owens happiness at escaping the life of being bullied and having no one understanding him is fools gold and ...

Re: Barefoot Abby
In the book Eli also arrives at the apartment complex several times barefoot and is barefoot on and off throughout the book. You as the audience notice because you are the impartial observer; the movie only shows that someone else besides Owen notices her feet when the nurse walks out of the hospit...

Re: If Eli were not a vampire. . . ?
Turn Eli into of child of molestation and abuse who is cursed with the aids virus. The ultimate outsider. Instead of being immortal she is instead quite fragile but she still has her heart of gold and Oskar can't help but be drawn to her. They end up being the best of friends as she grows weaker and...

Re: watched let me in then saw LTROI for the first time...
Everything you just mentioned is why I found more sympathy for Oskar. His parents aren't evil rather neglectful, they're trying there best (or at least his mother is) but ultimately failing him in every way. I found that to be much more realistic (and if anything much more painful to watch). Where ...
