Re: Who loves Abby?

Well, assuming the book rules, that there is a separate entity, another mind that controls Abby when she hunts and feeds, just isolating the Abby part of Abby, I could love her in certain ways. I could love her as a little sister or as a daughter. I would never get over that she looks twelve, even i...

Re: There is NO other way to say it...I too HATED this movie

The *implication* is there, and much of my thinking in this area takes it as "given" that she'd met Thomas the same way she's just met Owen, and Owen's future, like it or not, plan it that way or not, is liable to wind up the same. Does this mean the love story takes a hit? Maybe. Haven't we all ha...

Re: There is NO other way to say it...I too HATED this movie

I just did not have a strong negative reaction to LMI. I really enjoyed LMI. I consider LMI a re-imagination, rather than a remake of LTROI. A re-imagination can stand on its own, to a greater extent, than a traditional remake and more in new directions, far more easily than a more traditional remak...

Re: Abby and Owen as Lovers?

When you are two hundred years old, everyone around you is jail bait. Still, two hundred years ago, assuming she is about as old as Eli, by the age of twelve or so, the age Abby looks like and Owen is, in fact, a person would be just about old enough to start thinking about settling down and h...

Re: Oscar. I am not a girl.

Life is a little more fluid (and varied) than most people realize. You don't have to look to Kim Petras for an example of someone who challenges gender norms. There's also Andrej Pejic :D Oh, and a couple of TS people are active on this board. Crazychristina, Yes, life has a way of not fitting into...

Re: Oscar. I am not a girl.

I think that Oscar, in the initial meeting scene is conceding attraction to a female Eli. I consider myself a heterosexual and I would not date a, "Guy." I don't consider Kim Petras a former guy, but rather as a really good looking young woman. So, getting back to Eli, I am trying to relate to Osca...

Re: Oscar. I am not a girl.

Hi Maybe you should try to think about this from another POV. These kind of questions you have written do pop up when you are besieged by hormones. When you supress your hormones a bit you´ll find out it´s not so important what is feminine and what´s masculine. It´is important only for reproduction...

Re: Oscar. I am not a girl.

Personally, Eli makes me think about my own understanding or lack of understanding, with regard to my, taken for granted understanding of the role of gender identity in shaping my view of myself, as a male, my reaction to gender roles of others and how my reaction, our reactions to gender roles, imp...

Re: Eli at Her Most Endearing

I would go with this option:

1) Smiling at Oskar's apt. door, just before he acts like a jerk.
