Re: The manipulative angle
Sorry, should have re-phrased the question as "what is it that Hakan is able to accomplish that Eli cannot". It just seemed to me that Hakan was being used to an end which Eli was never fully comfortable with, the killing of innocent folk. What it " seems " like is not concrete. What is concrete is...

Re: The manipulative angle
I guess it begs the question, what is it exactly that justifies Eli's manipulation of Oskar. What is that he/she stands to gain? A new Hakan. I realize that Oskar is too young to be able to do the things Hakan did but the threeway tie between the lack of explanation concerning the extreme sacrifice...

Re: Favourite scene...
Has to be the candy scene, i feel like the whole world wants to hug Eli at that very moment. The double-take that Eli gives Oskar when she becomes more appealing appearance wise is also another favorite, her smile is priceless.

On a side note though, i thought it was interesting that when Oskar questions her vampirism Eli simply states " I live off of Blood...yes", Implying maybe she doesn't see ...

Re: The manipulative angle
True, but then i guess thats whats so great about the movie, the director allows you to fill in the blanks as you so choose....but if thats the case, why let oskar get a better understanding of her prior life.

Re: The manipulative angle
Not sure if this was mentioned, but there is one scene i believe that destroys the possibilty of manipulation....it's only several seconds long, but it's the part where she reaches out to oskar through "morse" but at the last second, pulls her hand back out of respect for Hakans wishes to not see hi...
