Re: Killing for Love
In light of the mentioned unacceptability to Oskar of wanton killing, we should remember that Oskar influences Eli, just like Eli influences Oskar. In the book, there is an important moment when Eli, right after having the "why do you kill people" conversation with Oskar, endangers himself by buying...

Art in athleticism
I've never been a big fan of sports. Not of the figure skating, specifically. But than I was watching the Sochi Olympics, and was treating this generally as a fun way to pass time. Oh, and the opening ceremony was a blast. And than, a day or two into the competitions, SHE happened: https://www.youtu...

Licking of lips and teeth is a wolf's a sign of affection and devotion. She is a member of their pack, as far as they are concerned, and a superior one to boot. And she was away for some time, so they missed her.a_contemplative_life wrote:Why did they keep licking that person's face?

Re: Once Bitten
I found this amusing little clip just recently on Youtube: 3hdUCzbCuYk The scene from "Once Bitten", where Eli teaches Oskar to play with wolves, immediately came to mind. I have a "thing" for wolves, too, I admit... It is interesting, that despite all the endearing displays of affection and their o...

I used to have dreams and day fantasies about vampires from since I was firstly exposed to them, via the "Lost Boys" movie. I was also fascinated by the concept of child vampire as depicted by Claudia from the "Interview...", although I did not like her character at all. One day I had a dream/fantas...

Re: Hypothetical Post-Turning Parental Encounters
Kids stay kids. It is highly unlikely that Oskar would not start missing his mom after some time away from home. While the timing and intensity of these urges are debatable, they will be there, for sure.

Re: Scaling Hospital Walls - a Technical Question
Since we can clearly hear the sound of wings when she disappears off the ledge, I think it's merely TA's way of implying flight without having to offend the viewers' sensabilities by showing Eli naked from the waist up. The book, on the other hand, spells it out. I am not sure about wings f...

I always thought that if Eli would just stick to the public child molesters register, she would be perfectly acceptable to US public. Even welcome
