I noticed there was an overwhelming amount of responce to the "If you had been Oskar" question. This seems pretty natural to me because I suspect that many of you, like myself, identify with Oskar and would love to be in his shoes. So lets do it again, this time earlier in the movie. I too was unaware of the owl creek interpretation. And I liked it that may. Thankfully it's not very plausible or you would have ruined my movie experience.

For me it was before I actually watched the movie. It was when I read what the ending was on wikipedia. (I had to make sure the movie wasn't going to lift my spirits only to ruin my good mood at the end; I get more than enough of that in real life.)

While you make some interesting points, I think it would probably be simpler to directly refute the points of the critics. "It's slow" - Not entirely fair; there are several brutal killings and a dynamic love story in the space of less than two hours of film. Not necissarily 'fast' but not slow eith...
