Re: Infected?
Polet  Hi Lucibel, I got infected almost the same way. I doubted the film, it was my second choice of swedish movie because I couldn't find what I was looking for but I like vampire lores so I gave it a chance. I didnt watch with full attention but it begged me to watch it again. and again a...

Re: Bits better than the book
Well, even though Eli is more than two hundred years old, she hates what she has to do, that's why she starts crying when she kills Jocke. And I don't think she cares much, she is quite old, is used to moving places a lot, and knew she would have to move sooner or later, with Hakan or not. I don't ...

Re: To Receive a Kiss
Was watching the kiss scene that followed Lacke's death today and couldn't help but wonder whether, had I been Oskar,* I would've been as comfortable as he appeared to be with all the blood around Eli's mouth. I think at that age, I would've freaked out a bit. I hate to admit it, because it's such ...

Re: Oskar & Eli as Host & Guest; a Mutual & Reparative Sacri
I did a quick read, it was great. Interesting and these are my favorites. I have now a better understanding of the two sides of the coin thing. If you look back at the beginning of the film, Oskar's other self had transformed and materialized into what's inside the cardboardbox is. The bleeding scen...

Re: Swedish with Swedish Subtitles?
Now we can all learn Swedish from Eli and Oskar. (I have this image of a bunch of us visiting Sweden and being fluent in completely impractical phrases but unable to say anything useful. No idea how to say "hello, my name is", but might come out with "Du är bortskämd och du har ju inga kläder på di...

Re: Why do we love Eli and Oskar?
I was quite bothered by Oskar's snot, more because he does'nt wipe it. It gave an impression that hes really a kid, I guess it served its purpose. I think there are too many reasons to like them. It would be easier to do "Why would you not like them"? I would say "Because they kill everyone." but I ...

Re: Awesome, but not so much
That BluRay cover is identical to one advertised as Let the Right One In, UK Blu-ray re-release- * Commentary with director Tomas Alfredson and author John Ajvide Lindqviste * Deleted scenes * Exclusive interview with Oskar and Eli (new) * Exclusive 40-minute featurette: The Phenomenon of Let The R...

Re: Awesome, but not so much
There's no pamphlet :( Yeppers, no insert covers (not one  ) from all media -- UK Blu-ray, DVD or the U.S. releases. Sent them as gift to friends, left the U.K. BD for myself but no BD Player  The U.S. release of Blu-ray and dvd plays the movie in English dub by default. If you are sendi...

Re: Why do we love Eli and Oskar?
Wow, great thread. Guess this shows what happens when the discussion is anchored by a strong first post. Intrige, you set a good example. Thanks to all who posted the photos. Nothing like some Oskar/Eli eye-candy to illustrate a point. And to DMt, who said this: ...innocent Evil shyly reaching towa...

Re: Jugs and Let the right one in
I still don't even know if the title refers to Eli letting Oskar in, or vice versa, or both. Well, it doesn't necessarily have to be limited to Eli and Oskar. It could be a general recommendation, as Casper pointed out (and certainly the multitude of characters letting each other "in" seems to supp...
