Torpor

Eli tells Oskar that she sleeps for months at a time and that she really doesn't know why. usually in vampire lore this happens when a vampire has reached a point of total despair and sorrow and can no longer bear the struggle that life becomes when overwhelmed by such feelings. in some cases vampires enter into this sleep to recover from serious bodily injury. in Eli's case i prefer the former. she is after all a 12 year old and has emotional burdens that few could bear and at times of extreme despair and sorrow i believe she is "rescued" by her subconscious and forced into her hibernation. certainly some of us have had those times in our lives when we wanted to retreat from the world until our wounds healed or our lives improved.the title was inspired by our fellow infected member chuck_u._farley. as always any thoughts and opinions are appreciated.

Excellent. But I wouldn't expect it to be otherwise.
