Let the Right One In fanart

Post by mclx3 » Tue Aug 02, 2011 8:12 pm

I was inspired to do this drawing of Oskar and Eli after watching the film, Let the Right One In. I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you very much for viewing.

It's in FA/FF...very touching it is, too. Just a bit of trouble establishing the discussion link.

He is looking at me, silently, expectantly, in the near-dark room, neither smiling nor frowning; gaunt as a Belsen child, proud as the Devil, distant and beautiful as a star. [DMt.]

Belive it or not, but I found that drawing on facebook, almost a year ago. I still have it on my computer, I found it so beautiful. And have looked at it many times ver since. And I have thought: Man, how did this person make it all so real?
This have been one of my favorites :D If you had a viritual hand, I would shake it. And tell you how good you are, just like a proper fan :D

I love this picture. I love how soft everything looks and the reflective light. I don't know the film well enough but this scene looks even barer than the film did, which I think is fitting. Eli also looks even more fragile than Lina. The red sweater is the perfect touch. Please post more artwork, even if it's not related I would love to see some.

I, too, saw this picture some time ago.

There is something visually striking about how the picture is composed that catches one's eye. Maybe it is how Eli and Oskar are not looking at each other? Have their backs to one another. In the film, Eli's table would have been in front of Oskar, but in this drawing there is nothing. Yet we get the impression that Oskar is in Eli's private room. What is Eli thinking about as she looks down at the floor? It is very mysterious.

It also emphasizes how terribly skinny (almost gaunt) Eli is.
