Just finished.Blown away. Spoliers

Post by Bustedstuff15 » Sat Nov 19, 2011 5:02 am

So I just finished Little Star and its so incredible to see how much JAL has already grown as a writer. To have you hooked on a book where most of it is developing characters instead of action is really a talent few authors posess. Of course he rewarded you throughout the book with short parts that had your heart pounding and stomach turning. Although this may be his most disturbing book he still puts his signature heart bending elements in it.

My question for those of you who read it is what do you think Theres is? There are so many different mysterious qualities about her but what did they all really mean when it comes to her?

I have my own interperitations but I am curious to here what others think. Thanks once again John for another book that touched my heart.

Very good book. Kept me guessing to the very end.

Too right, it was an excellent book but I wish that JAL didn't put in the spoiler at the beginning as it did give the ending away. Overall it was a gripping story and I found it difficult to put it down. :D

We are kept in the dark about Theres. We never see what is going on her head (which different characters wonder about in the story). All we know about her is what she has to say, so she is a cypher. When I was finished the things that stayed with me were the words Theres uttered when she was a small child, living in the basement. I think that is the character. Theres is a child that never quite grows up. She things with the guiless simplicity of a child. A very primal character.

I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.
