Yes, could very well be one of them. I also remember John saying that initially he viewev Theres as coming from another planet, before he decided to tone down the supernatural aspects of the story to just the red smoke.
So I am still left with a very realistic feel about the while thing. In total it's getting a tad too much for reality, but that is the sum - it isnt easy to plain rule out each little detail (except for the red smoke). Even if Theres' childhood is stretching my limits...
