I fear that if she were to be secretly turned over to the government, that she would be treated as a lab rat. :( They would try to 'safely' infect their trained agents, as they wouldn't likely want to trust a child to do their questionable bidding.

My arguement is that a lot of what Eli did was in order to survive. You don't take wolves to court for eating deer on the grounds of murder right?

There seems to be something of a link between rabies and vampirism.

No, you don't take wolves to trial for murdering deer. However, some folks who value deer (and their own livestock) hunt or set traps for wolves in their neighbourhoods. Wolves don't get a trial.

A man who runs around killing people for their wallets in order to collect their money so his daughter can get a badly needed operation would be put away for murder; if he were to kill them for their money just for himself, he'd still be carted off to death row, he'd just be put on a faster track to it.

Yep as i can see many of you are trying to protect Eli, cause she was only trying to survive. Ok it is true but there is another small problem. Actually human beings think that they are gods of this small little planet. They wouldn,t like to be a prey, they don,t know how is it to be a prey etc.

Now imagine the situation, when you have a family, you are a happy father/mother/husband/wife, you are leading your ideal life about which you always dream off, and now suddenly Eli appeared in your life. She need to eat, so she killed your wife/husband/kids, but she did it only for survive. Anyway she destroyed your life. After that kind of tragedy would you still think about her "survive"? Probably not, you would be the first one who will chop her head off. Even is she would not atack you, imagine how many other families she would destroyed? Do you really think that she should be free? Probably not. She is not like blade or other vampire heroes. She need to eat, she need to kill, and if you let her live in freedom, then you would regret it sonner or later.

P.S Long Time no see, hi everyone;p

Well Gracek, i know what you're trying to so, but i cannot fault Eli, but i wouldn't be very happy either for what Eli did. Yes, it would be tramatic if i had a family and Eli noms them. It's rather difficult for me to say. But if i didn't know Eli, i would have done what Lacke did. But i do know Eli, but my feelings would be conflicted, "Eli does need to eat, but i love my family too."

Well, how about the "Not in my backyard" approach?
Go ahead and eat, but if you harm anyone I like better than I like you then we are going to play a little game I call sunshine.

Hahaha, that's horrible and a little bit funny. I would go the other way though. If I really reached that dark enough point where I would actually consider trying to kill Eli, I would probably instead just demand that she relieve me of my suffering and request that she nom me as well.

Ha, that would be just what I would do ;) .

The reason that can never kill Eli however is that she is a child. If any adult vampire tries the same thing he would be brutally murdered and I would drink his blood for supper, with all the consequences that entails  .

Eli is beyond trial. There's really only two options. The Buffy approach, and the take care of her approach. Which you take, I suppose, depends on whether or not she's eating anyone you care about, hence the 'NIMBY' above.

Haha, classic.
