To me, the opening was a mystery at first, but I was very curious as to what it meant and anxious to see the reasons for it. I also felt sadness for Oskar. I could feel his pain. The snow added to the isolation and sadness. Also, when I saw the credits, I new this film was going to be a breath of fresh air and not comfirm to the "formula" for, and "rules" for films. I feel like many films that are released are very predictable, but I knew this one was going to catch me off guard and I was right 
We fell in love despite our differences...and once we did, something rare and beautiful was created.
