Oskar and Eli's relationship is so moving that the past 6 years just caught up with me and crushed me. this movie shone a mirror upon me, and unlike Eli, there was no reflection. those 2 kids made me realize just how much is missing from my life. if you have a partner, i imagine this movie just makes you appreciate them more. Have any other single people felt this crushing loneliness after viewing this movie, or am i just unusual?
What, exactly, does this last page full of posts have to do with the original topic, or with the film Let The Right One In?

...the story derives a lot of its appeal from its sense of despair and a darkness in which the love of Eli and Oskar seems to shine with a strange and disturbing light.

why does it take a movie to relalize you need someone in your life.
truely if you really want someone you should be your self , give your all
no relationship should be 50/50 unless there something wrong. but i guess in the end its going to be 50/50.
life is not a movie or a fairytale. movies try to make relationships so perfect when there not in real life.
it sadden.
well yeah ! . soo!?
I don't know if this has ever happened to you, but sometimes I can have 6 different people tell me the same thing and it just doesn't sink in. Then some other person says it to me, but says it in just a slightly different way, and all of a sudden it comes clear to me.

I think that there is a difference between knowing something to be true, and feeling it to be true. It may be the same way sometimes with a film. It can make you feel that something is true, even though you may have known it all along.

I'm not lonely, but there have been times in my life when I was. I could imagine that you may or not may know that you are lonely, but then along comes a film like LTROI. By showing you two very miserable people with little to no control over their circumstances somehow having their existences transformed by finding in each other their soulmate, it could certainly make you feel lonely. You could think, "If Oskar and Eli can overcome all of those huge obstacles to let the other into into their hearts, why can't I?"

I know what you're talking about.

You beat me to it; and I also want to include this:

This is pretty much the core of why I read JAL's books.

Just reminds me of when I was working at a local casino. Rich old ladies really should not drink. But it was fun since I worked for tips.
Light and dark complete the circle.
Find the Yang to fit the Yin.
Barren desert, lush green myrtle.
Find the wind to lift your wing.
