Favorite YouTuber Nods to LtROI

Post by Bloody Mary » Sat Aug 01, 2015 6:11 pm

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVhWUCY9v3w (Cursing warning)

I ran across this video, called "Two Vampire Movies," and you know what my first thought was. Yep, one of the YT ranters I follow compared LtROI to Twilight, to say that Twilight is an inferior copy of the former. (He's called the Amazing Atheist, and may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I was so delighted that he enjoyed the movie that I couldn't wait to share this with you guys.)

P.S. You should check him out if you don't mind a lot of profanity and some crudeness. He makes very intelligent content sometimes, other times just yells, and is mostly entertaining. Politics, social issues/events, religion and stuff.

Didn't know AA did a video on it... His point of views on religion I certainly don't agree with, but he makes good points about today's society.

Thanks! Hadn't seen this before. I hope AA has found or will find WTI. His question has been answered very thoroughly.

Ditto.

I originally discovered LTROI through a YT video.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J_mqxP9AflI

The channel is called film theroy, it deals with analyzing films and tv shows to understand the science of them.

This episode deals with horror films that convey horror or action by keeping it off screen. I was so intrigued by the cinematography of the pool scene that I looked up LTROI and watched it that night.

The rest is history. ;)

Lol, yeah. Every time.

Haha, yeah. I admit I called her Ellie for a time.

But the thing that really confused me untill I read the book to get it straight was the one scene where Oskar is trying to tell Eli about how he stood up to the bullies.

To me it sounds like he is saying EE-LEE instead of EE-LAY

Then you probably get it right. There are no diphthongs when Eli is pronounced in Swedish.

For the correct pronunciation of the Swedish E, as it occurs in the name Eli, please listen to this clip:
But from the beginning Eli was just Eli. Nothing. Anything. And he is still a mystery to me. John Ajvide Lindqvist
