For non-swedes, it may be of interest to learn a little trivia related to the passage where the narrator discusses Karin's appearance.
The woman was not a librarian, but a police officer. Should someone have forced me to reveal my image of a female police officer, I would probably have said something about short-cut, black hair, marked cheekbones and sinewy muscles.
My translation
A Swede would likely think of Anna Holt, a character played by Petra Nielsen in the TV-series Anna Holt, Polis.
Petra is a singer and a dancer as well as an actor, as is evident in this snippet:
