Hey! I've seen that house! While I stayed in Hanska, quite close to it!

Reminds me (a little) of this place, very close to where I live.

I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.

Kind of off topic, but i always wondered what was Eli's opinion about everything that changed since that time until now. Houses, technology and beliefs. Would be interesting.

He undoubtedly noticed these things and made use of them, but I wonder if he cared enough to have an opinion.
But from the beginning Eli was just Eli. Nothing. Anything. And he is still a mystery to me. John Ajvide Lindqvist

Yes! Would be cool to know if he cares for them and even if he realizes everything new that has been created in the world. That though passed in my mind while i was saying in another thread about security cameras and all that, how it would change there "invisibility". For all i know, Eli could not even know what a security camera is, but Oskar could help with that maybe.

Well, stuff like cell phones, laptops, ipads and ipods, and ubiquitous security cameras weren't around in 1981, when Oskar withdrew from the world. He would be on par with Eli regarding these things.

That's why it makes such a dangerous situation for the both of them. With such connected world, where almost everyone has a cellphone with camera, almost every road has a surveillance camera, it would be extremely difficult to remain in the shadows.

I can remember spending nights with my maternal grandmother. Only the kitchen and the living room had heat. Both bedrooms were unheated. When you went to bed in the winter, you had so many blankets and quilts on top of you, you could hardly move. When you went to bed in winter, you STAYED in bed!

Let's not forget the frosty fern patterns on the inside of the windows in the morning. :)
