Dear John Ajvide Lindqvist

Post by SunButterfly » Sun Nov 07, 2010 1:29 am

This is to John Ajvide Lindqvist, I'm sure he visits the forum once in awhile and I just wanted to write a letter to him to thank him. I'm so happy that I got my hands on this book, cause ever since I've read it, my life has changed. There's very few books or films I watch that has made a good impact on me and this has to be one of them. My heart has opened up, I love the character developments and I could never forget the bound between Eli and Oscar. I really felt like I was Oscar as a young kid, I do had parents that got into a divorce and ever since I was left with only my mother and two brothers. Grew up, not really knowing my father, I immediately felt what he felt and the story drew me in. I've read a lot of books since I was younger, than one day I heard about this book and that I should check it out. I however decided to watch the film first, the minute the credits started I had tears in my eyes cause the movie moved me in a lot of ways. The whole time I was in Oscar's shoes and was seeing what he was seeing through his eyes, I grew up being picked on and tormented by many people growing up. All in all this is a beautiful book, you captured ever moment and I was always wondering what was going to happen next. Sometimes before I go to bed even I have the movie playing cause it soothes me. Reason why I felt like Oscar cause I didn't have too many friends growing up and even still today I'm pretty much an outcast. Very happy that this forum got created, I visit here as often as I can. :) I'm sure you have a lot on you're hands, but I'd love an book autographed by you. I've come across a lot of author's and this story was beautiful in every way. Planning on reading the rest of you're works, cause your writing is inspirational. Keep writing! You have a lot of fans on this forum and I'll definitely will always be your fan rooting you on. :D

Your Fan,
Samantha

...the story derives a lot of its appeal from its sense of despair and a darkness in which the love of Eli and Oskar seems to shine with a strange and disturbing light.
