My theory is IdreamiwasaBee is a vampire with insight into these things.

My theory is that, at some level, the whole human species knows we are at the brink of the next evolutionary plateau, and that we are currently so fascinated with the vampyr because a] we're imprinted on a Darwinian model of evolution, and b] it's a more-or-less comprehensible image of existence a little further up the food chain, with a vastly expanded sensorium and capacities.

Youed be surprised at the feats of Strength, and sensory perception you are capable of when your pumped full of certain hormones in response to certain situations. Very super natural in and of itself. I have two distinctly differant memories of the events of a car crash I was in a few years back. One set has it happen in all of about 6 seconds. The other has everything in slow motion and I can see all the individual peices of safety glass flying past my head in such detail I could probably count them.DMt. wrote:My theory is that, at some level, the whole human species knows we are at the brink of the next evolutionary plateau, and that we are currently so fascinated with the vampyr because a] we're imprinted on a Darwinian model of evolution, and b] it's a more-or-less comprehensible image of existence a little further up the food chain, with a vastly expanded sensorium and capacities.

Parallel memories from different parts of your being? Cool.
I gather that near-death experiences of this sort can sometimes trigger latent ESP capacities.
