This scene made me uneasy. It's really one of the only times in the book we get a peek into Eli's world, and quite frankly it was disquieting. It wasn't mean or cruel or anything, just very, very, very sad. It made me uncomfortable to think what she was going through knowing what she was doing but unable to help it.
But it's definitely one of my favorite scenes for those reasons.
