Post by gkmoberg1 » Mon Feb 22, 2021 2:00 pm

In the 19 February 2021 episode of the 'radiolab' podcast, Magnus Wahlberg talks about the 1981 'Whiskey on the Rocks' crisis, the same mentioned in LTROI. Magnus talks about how this event was, for Sweden, the wake-up call that that they need to be monitoring their coast.

Magnus Walhberg, PhD., is an Associate Professor at Syddansk Universitet (https://www.sdu.dk). In 1981 he was 13 years old and living in Stockholm.

The 'Whiskey on the Rocks' event occurred well to the south of Stockholm in the coastal Blekinge region.

radiolab can be hard at a variety of places, including https://www.wnycstudios.org/podcasts/radiolab . The episode is called 'Red Herring'.

[Edit: metoo has pointed out to me the area is 'Blekinge' and not 'Bleckinge', as I had originally spelled it above. I, uhh, should have known this, but that's another story. Thank you @metoo.]
