For Russian people is philosophical way of thinking a second nature. All the Russian´s i have ever met were so. And i see it starts at very young age. ;) I do understand something , but not everything. I´ll ask Clubmeister. He can translate it.

Since I'm fluent in Russian I thought I'd offer some assistance...
Here's what he says..

" Hello dear friends. Welcome to my new show. We will be discussing books.
Books that i consider good. Now I'm going to talk about the book that I've
recently read. That book really affected me. This book is called "Let Me In"
by John Ajvide Lindquist.
First I'd like to say that the book is harsh...very dark... extremely dark.
I liked that a lot. It talks about feelings, feelings you have when you're a child
and you don't know anything about love, but you feel something inside of you.
I'd like to mention that I've only seen Hollywood version of the book and not
the Swedish one. I wanted to see the Swedish one, but came back late from
vacation and missed it....and I already ordered the book, received it, read
it and loved it with all my heart...and I made a decision "Why not...I should just do
this review"
Ok, let's return to the book. I'm not going to go too deep into the plot, but here's
what we have: a boy...he's hurt, insulted and with low self esteem...ugly...and the
way he's described in the book..overweight...he is suffering...
and there's a girl Eli...be careful..here's the spoiler..she is not a girl...she used to
be a boy. To be honest, some moments in the book were pretty disgusting...I don't think
it's a bad thing, I believe it's good because the book made me feel uneasy, unpleasant
and to be honest it shocked me which has not happened to me in a long time...at least since
i read(I couldn't make out the name. Nightrider) or Harry Potter series...I don't
know how to describe this..I have two books from that series, but it's the second book that
I like the most.
OK, let's get back to the plot of "Let Me In". Oskar gets a new neighbour, a strange girl
named Eli. They become friends. BY the way, other than Oskar's plot line, there's another
plot line in the book. It's about Virginia and Lacke...there's many plot lines in the book,
but I'll talk about main ones only...like line about Jonny and his relationship with his
brother...and the longest plot line about Staffan and Tommy...and Tommy's mother who's name
I don't remember, but the strongest and the most emotional plot line is about Oskar and Eli.
To be honest, if I only had to read about Oakar and Eli I would get bored, the author understood that
and that is why he created several other plot lines. They are very interesting. They all intertwine
together into one, central, larger storyline that is like a puzzle. I have only positive feelings about the book.
I grade the book 10 out of 10. I hope everyone reads it. What else can I say?....Buy this book. It's very
interesting...I used to like vampires before "Twilight" came out. After "Twilight I hated all of them..
that's the feeling I had...but since reading "Interview with the Vampire", "Let Me In" is the only book that
will make you sit up and seriously think about vampires.
After "Twilight" there was lots(sorry for my language) crap. There was lots of drama, melodrama...I don't
know...it was all stupid, not funny and just....ugly. "Let Me In" I admit is a harsh book, but it shows
the other side...the other side of our world...the side that we don't know about or don't see ...
I have very strong emotions about this book...so strong that I can't even describe them...
I did see parts of Swedish movie and I also saw Hollywood'd version...and I must say
that Swedish version is much more like the book..In Swedish movie...I think...i only saw parts of it,
but I think most plot lines from the book are present...I think...for sure plot line of Virginia and plot line
of Oskar. I did like Hollywood version a lot, even though I could see that it was different from the book...
I still loved it. It's a good movie...I don't know what else to say...It's a good book...buy it...order it..
read it...I wish you all a pleasant reading..leave me some comments about your top ten books..
Untill we meet again...Goodbye.

Hope this helps. 8-)

He hasn't reacher puberty anyhow.. Some kinds can be really smart and muture. Imagine what I was like Hahhaa.. But seriously, they get so much information from the internet, they can know just about anything. When I was a kid I didn't even keep the record of the existence of google. It was there but I had no idea how to use it.

I think he's probably 12 or 13, boys tend to look a little younger than they are for a while ;) . I think it's really interesting to hear the perspective of someone who's the same age as the characters. It just shows how realistic Oskar and Eli are, the way they think and speak, it's so well written. They would seem real to a child.
I also started reading adult books around or even before that age.. I didn't like everything I read but I could handle it. It depends on the kid. Especially if this boy has been bullied, it's probably a powerful book, and not too shocking.

Thanks for the translation Nightrider!

That is a pretty smart, articulate kid. He may be older than he looks.

I like the part where he describes the book as a big puzzle with all the plot lines. :)

I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.
