Virtual Book Club

Post by a_contemplative_life » Wed Dec 04, 2013 10:41 pm

It occurred to me that it might be fun to start a virtual book-reading club. We could vote on one of JAL's novels to start and then go through the chapters on a weekly basis or some other interval that makes sense. We could start a thread under the topic for whichever novel we choose to read, and then everyone could share and discuss their thoughts as we go along. If anyone thinks this would be fun and wants to participate, please reply and state which book you'd prefer to begin with.

That would work for me, and Let the Right One In would be a good place to start. :)

I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.

Sounds good! I'm in. Any of JALs books would be good. I vote for Handling the Undead.

Sounds like a good idea, but I can't join in. I don't have enough time to read a lot and I have just started quite a large book (I can only read one book at a time). But I can lurk, if that's okay?

Well, it looks like the majority wish to begin with LTROI. Hopefully gkmobeg1 can be patient and hold off on HTU for now.

I don't know how quickly we all wish to move through the book, so I'll just suggest we read 21 October (basically the first chapter) by next Saturday. Is that workable, or does anyone want to move more quickly?

no problem here! I've heard of this "Let the Right One In" story... so I'll read along and contribute 8-)

Are there zombies in it? At least one perhaps?
