We, The Infected

This is a topic about Let the right one in in general but I put it into the novel section. I hope this is okay..

LTROI had and still has a huge impact on all of us. It gives us peace, makes us dream, reawoke long lost yearnings, unlocks our creativity.. some become writers, artists, others travel to Blackeberg just to be in that place where Oskar and Eli lived in our imagination. For me for example LTROI is like an island in my mind. Sometimes - when i have the chance to - I just close my eyes to be there. I could spend a whole day like this.

I dont know how strong it affects your life in general - but can you imagine the time before LTROI? How did your inner self change since then? Or is it just an awesome story to read for you? I would like to know that.

I must say.. despite having had great events and moments in my life before I never want to miss LTROI ever again.

I'll have to get back to you on the deeper stuff but, a few funny things that never would have happened before LTROI.
I can't look at a sentence beginning with "Let" without getting excited, even then makes me picture all things LTROI.
The same goes for Rubiks cubes, and despite knowing better seeing one in something not related to LTROI is like they are being misused.
I also checked the back seat once while waiting for a friend at a petrol (gas) station.

ok I am super tired and should go to sleep but..
I'll make a list.
- It changed how I viewed love. As a closeted and pretty much unknowing Lesbian with a few "I don't feel completely like a girl" thoughts, Eli broke the chain off. Clothes are just clothes, love is just love.
- It changed how I viewed children. I have always been very good with children, worked in kindergardens and am an aunt. But after LTROI, the book espesially, I took kids emotions more seriously. Or rather, was more awre of taking them more seriously. It helped me a lot when working with kids.
- LTROI was the first book I read, that was thick, and I loved. Books more me terrebly. If it is not very good, I do not have the patience to read it. I haven't even read lord of the rings or harry potter for the same reason. But after LTROI, I read more. And I wanted to write.
- I started writing because I wanted someone to feel what I felt for LTROI. I understood I could help people, and plant little seeds of axeptence and love and quallity though stories. It motivated me to use a talent I didn't know I had. It all started with fan-fictions of course.
- This comunity. We, the infected has given me a lot of confedence. Around 2011-2012 I was very popular around here. People mentioned my username everywhere and I had many penpals who sent me lots of PMs every day. For a 16-17 yearold previous bullying victim with no confedence, it was good help. I embraced my personallity a bit more. Because those on the forum hadnæt even seen me yet they liked me a lot. Then it must be what I write, how I write it. ergo, personallity.

It hasn't had that much of an impact for me in my personal life. But I enjoyed reading the book since I thought the story was awesome. One of the best books and movie I have seen.
It made me realize that:
1. I am still bad at puzzles.
2. I can't solve a Rubik's cube.
3. I am bad at giving directions.
4. Made me want to go back to write stories.
5. That I still like to collect things.
6. Spiderman is my favorite superhero.
7. When I was a kid I liked to read Goosebumps books.
