Does Eli have fingerprints?

In the novel is not mentioned if Eli had left her fingerprints in the crime scenes, my concern is... the authorities never found any fingerprint? Would have been useful in the search for Eli? Her condition of vampire would have left her without any fingerprints in her fingers during the metamorphosis?

We don't know - i don't think there is anything even in LTODD that answers this. But I am going to guess that Eli does have fingerprints and that something Eli touches would have then a fingerprint in it. There would, thereby, be loads of fingerprints for the police investigators to pick up in the apartment Eli shared with Håkan. Plus those fingerprints might match up with other, older fingerprints they have on file...

Oy. Just one more thing for Oskar and Eli need to worry about. Looking back from 2018, there are so many changes since 1982 that put the children in danger. Consider advances during the 1930s when it was said of bank robbers--You can't outrun a police radio. Now we might say, you can't outrun the Internet.

I live in an unexceptional old neighborhood, but residents have put up lights and surveillance cameras all over the place. What if the police tracked them with cadaver dogs?

The earth has gotten crowded. So many people. So few vampires.

Sounds to me like a good idea for some more Fan Fiction. ;)

Perhaps Eli can change her fingerprints at will.

I agree, and it's someone I've reconnected with after a long time. She's way excited about LTROI and has already envisioned a story where Eli loses her passport and has to apply for another one--in Paris!

I've also invited her to join the forum. :)

Now, that's good news. We can always use new blood.

I've recently read @metoo's three series of stories. They are based off the novel. In metoo's story 'Raven Flight' (Series One), Eli shows Oskar how to go about shape shifting. This is how Oskar learns to grow wings, for example. If you like this story, then we can then decide that should Eli have fingerprints (and I still think any Eliform would), then they could be made to removed. However, only upon the intention of the Eliform doing the shape modifications.

Stories involving shape changing, such as werewolves, have always appealed to me. Even Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Dracula was the crown of such stories.

But in a last scene of Abbot & Costello Meet Frankenstein, Dracula turns into a bat, the Wolf Man leaps from the battlements of the castle to grab the bat out of the air, and they disappear into the abyss. As a little kid, I thought that was a marvelous scene.

Yep. Once Oskar, an expert on crime in Blackeberg, warns her, He and Eli will be sure to eliminate their fingerprints. Or, if feeling playful, will imitate the fingerprints of some of Oskar's surviving bullies, when they're out to dinner.
