This is the title of John's new book to be released this fall.

From the Facebook page John's publisher keeps for him:
It's about authoring as a profession. During the seventeen years he has been working, John has collected over 1500 pages of notes to his novels. In this book John has made a selection of these notes which make up about half the text. The rest is John's recent comments, reflections on life, horror and writing.
In addition, Love Antell has made a cover as well as seven fresh illustrations, one to each novel.
Until the release, we come here on Facebook to occasionally add quotes from the book.

Misslyckas igen, misslyckas bättre released
So John's new book Misslyckas igen, misslyckas bättre has been released. I of course have got myself a copy.
The book is composed of short excerpts from the notes John makes before and during the writing of a novel, interspersed with newly written comments. Quite interesting.
In the introduction John warns the reader:
It's perhaps best to say that massive spoilers will follow. If you have planned to read one of my books, then you've better to skip that particular chapter. Maybe it's even so, that the texts that follow may function as spoilers even if you've read the book in question. That I'm telling more than you'd actually want to know about a novel's prosaic and laborious emergence. In that case you should skip this entire book and read something else. My translation
Being thus warned I started reading the first chapter, about LtROI, knowing the risk I was taking. Fortunately, I think I came through it unscathed. My view of the novel remains the same. Still, the chapter contained a few surprises. Let's say that the novel could have turned out quite differently, had it followed it's initial path...
--
I've also got another new "book" by John: Nattrodd (night rowing), a short story published by Novellix. This company specialises in short stories, each one printed in a separate tiny volume. It's the second short story John has published this way. Perhaps they will be translated into some future collection of short stories for the international audience?

Re: Misslyckas igen, misslyckas bättre released
Thanks for the update, metoo. I’d love to get my hands on a translated edition. As an ameutur writer, learning how others go through their process is fascinating to me.metoo wrote: ↑Thu Sep 27, 2018 6:54 pmSo John's new book Misslyckas igen, misslyckas bättre has been released. Re: News from John
John has written a new short story, Kiln, that is published as a audio book in English, French and German (!).
The crux is that you have to be within Sweden to access it...
From John's Facebook page:
What is the story about?
The short audio story, named Kiln, is an adventure for all your senses. It’s written in the first person, so you’ll get to walk in the shoes of the main character as you go along and listen in the forest. The story starts off at the remains of a kiln, an ancient earth pit used to make charcoal. But soon enough, you’ll wander off and encounter various mythological beings, until you’re finally enchanted by a ‘huldra’ – a seductive forest nymph.
