I personally believe that Abby has found her soulmate in the form of Owen. Since this is only a two hour movie, you could make up what happened when Owen came in to see Abby before the cop came in. You can also make up your idea on what happened between Abby and Thomas before he got caught at the gas station. Heck, to me, Thomas didnt' want to be a vampire and also never bothered to ask Abby about it. My version of LMI is this, Thomas didn't want to be a vampire, he didn't like the idea of immortality maybe cause of what happened during his past in the 1930s. IT could of been mobsters, or even one of the parents who abused him maybe. I like to think it was the mob and Abby was too late to save Thomas's family, but managed to save him and she took him along.

It would be perfectly natural for her to want to be around kids her own (mental) age. It has to be frustrating for her to be around an adult all the time. No matter how close she was to Thomas, at his age (and maturity level), they would have likely grown apart. He's not going to want to play or do childish things, and she's not going to want to do the boring things we do as adults. She no doubt feels isolated despite having Thomas around.
Which is probably why both of them fight with one another.

that's another very good point. Owen seems like he's so infatuated with Abby that he would want to be turned in order to be with her forever. and it would be important for him to stay close to her "age". more or less, lol.

I can't for the life of me say if Owen remained "infatuated" with her after discovering the reality of her existence, or if he was too pants-wetting terrified of her to risk saying or doing anything that might displease her.

He seemed to enjoy their time together, after he wouldn't let her die. They smiled and kinda/sorta danced, then laughed together as she flew back to her apartment. Later that night, he snuck out to be with her and fell asleep in Abby's place. When she left, he cried.

What more do you need, really? :ugeek:

Owen knew what she was, and he accepted it. He smiled up at her when she saved him in the pool scene. You could say Abby is Owen's saviour. He's not scared of her, he loves her. She may be a killing machine but she still has a heart. I refuse to believe that she is using him in any way. I believe their feelings are mutual. Feel free to agree or disagree, but that how I will always see it.

Oh, I think many peole are going t hate this video. Cause I was exploring just that. Abby using Owen. O.o
But I can clearly see that Abby cares for owen. The whay she smiles at him. Owen for me seems winpy and scared all the time no matter what's happening. (axsept in the "blood pact" scene.) before Abby becomes a monster. So my video is not all from my viewerpoint. But since they made this old photo of her and Thomas, I just had to do it.

I think they will have a romance til Owen grows too old, and becomes her guardian. Just like thomas. Even though it's no real proof that Thomas was a former boyfriend. But rather just a friend. (But then again, who would jump off like owen does in the end, and kill people for "just a friend"?) :?

I don't know whether to agree or disagree at this juncture. When I first came to this board, I had a crapload more questions than opinions about LTROI; that's where I am now with LMI.

At the same time, if you have the DVD, loop the few seconds where Owen is in the water looking up towards where Abby's head would be if the camera hadn't been there showing us what Abby sees. Look REALLY carefully a few times and tell me what you're seeing is unalloyed joy. THEN, I believe, I'll disagree, because I saw a whole tangled web of emotions whose major component included fear.

I saw neither unalloyed joy nor intense fear. It looked to me like awe.

there's a lot of ways to see it, we seem to all have differing views. which is great, because that makes posting on these boards interesting.
