What I noticed in the trailer:

at 00:42 Ronald Reagan on TV, this tells you that the story takes place in the 80's.

at the end credits, it clearly says "Based on the screenplay and novel Låt den rätte komma in by John Ajvide Lindqvist."

8-)

Duh, I liked this one even less than the first trailer. Don't ask me why, it just has an incredibly bland vibe to it.

I liked this image a lot, too. Also, I liked that really creepy shot at about 1:06. It shows a view looking back over the shoulder of the driver of a car, showing someone that I take to be Abby in the back seat wearing a mask made out of a black plastic trash bag. Creepy, creepy, creepy.

Not surprisingly, the horror will be there. Will any of the tenderness be there? Will Matt and Chloe be able to make us feel for Abby? Will Matt and Kodi be able to make us feel for Owen? These are the things you will never be able to tell from a trailer, and these are also the things that will make or break this film.
...the story derives a lot of its appeal from its sense of despair and a darkness in which the love of Eli and Oskar seems to shine with a strange and disturbing light.

Based off the youtube trailer I saw, I agree with some, it's looking like an exact rehashing of the original. I was never happy with the casting for the two lead roles. To chose Chole seems, I don't know, as if the person or persons in charge of casting didn't even bother to select the best candidate. It was like they simply picked her because of her status. If I am not mistaken, it took Daniel and company a pretty long time before they were happy with Lina playing Eli. I have a bad feeling that Chole is going to break this movie. I was looking forward to a Cloverfield 2, not this pile of junk. If I liked going to movie theaters, Let me in would, without a doubt, be on my wait for DVD list.

She was cast for the film long before "kick-Ass" came out. :)

I watched the new trailer and after I heard the new tag-line...

"She will keep you safe...
She will keep you close...
She will keep you forever!"

...I lost all hope of the film having the same "REAL" love story between the characters.
Owen, it seems, will be an old man one day.
Unless they surprise me.

Well, this brings up an interesting point. If Abby does almost exactly the same thing as Eli, and Chloe brings the same mix of violence and vulnerability as Lina did, does the opinion of Reeves change the story that much?

Here is the image from the US trailer that I found pretty creepy:

Image

I wonder if Matt has a theme about masks going on? We have seen Owen in a mask, now here we see (I think) Abby in a mask.

Edit: Apparently that is actually Richard Jenkins in the mask. So maybe Matt is really playing up the aspect of parallels between Owen and 'The Father'?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's supposed to be Jenkins (or whatever the American name is for Hakan). I remember reading about how in one of the scenes he's supposed to be hiding in the back seat of a car or something along those lines.
