Am I the only one who thinks it could be really cool if the casting were reversed?gkmoberg1 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 08, 2018 2:18 pmUtah Theatre Bloggers Association

...the story derives a lot of its appeal from its sense of despair and a darkness in which the love of Eli and Oskar seems to shine with a strange and disturbing light.

Well, I could really see Scout Smith as Eli.

Re: Let The Right One In at Provo, Utah
I was thinking what a turn-about it would be to have the gaunt and spectral Brian Kocherhans playing powerless Oskar (less the guyliner), and the warm and comforting Scout Smith playing monstrous Eli. This would be a departure from both films, where there is nothing to visually mark Oskar (or Owen) as a social outcast. Then again, in the novel JAL had Oskar be rotund.
How interesting could it be to start out with an Oskar who could be a challenge to sympathize with, based upon his appearance, while Eli would be instantly just adorbs?
