The current, adult me would probably pass the opportunity, especially given that I cannot fathom the context within which Eli would have offered it to me. I would most likely help Eli the best I could, however I'd be reluctant to turn, in light of the cons.

The twelve year old me is a different deal, however. The twelve year old me that I remember, overtaken by Eli the same way Oskar was, would not hesitate one microsecond. And before leaving with Eli would arrange a nutricious romantic dinner involving certain classmates, and some of the teachers as well.

Thanks sauvin, that was very, very vivid.
It is interesting to project this situation on a scene from the book where Eli almost eats Oskar on the jungle jim. What did it cost her to hold back, I wonder...

It's totally opposite with me. I would never entertain ideas of being turned when I was 12. Now that I'm a bit older and fully realize what a bummer it is to be a slave to father time ... well heck, I wouldn't even think twice about joining the ranks of the fanged ones. It wouldn't be a perfect life, but as usual pros outnumber the cons ....

First:As a 12 year old...I'd take the offer, and yeah, at age 12, I had a list of people I'd want Eli to nom nom nom before we left town.

Second:As a 31 year old...it depends if I think I can convert vampiric powers to 'superhero' mode or not. Being 'Batman' would be pretty awesome. Being a villain, however, is pretty not awesome.

It's a little problematic, because I'd have to kill the criminals (gotta eat!), but yeah...I could see trying to superhero with the power. Seriously. Complete with spandex.

I am VENGEANCE! I am the NIGHT! I AM BATMAN!

Definitely yes.
Sooner or later I would regret this, but I said yes.

I don't mind blood but I'd prefer my food not to be struggling.
