Scene in the screenplay that surprised me - Abby almost biting Owen

I've just finished analizing Let Me In screenplay - both versions. They feature a lot of very interesting content. Also difference between the 2 versions of the script are very interesting. The first one is much more similar to the novel. A lot of crucial elements were rewritten. For instance the first draft feature a very interesting conversation between Abby and the Father that is absent in both movies.

But I think one scene suprised ma especially. It's a scene where Abby almost bites Owen and it's not the scene in the basement.

It happens after Abby eats a candy and vomits. When Owen embraces her she feels an urge to bite him. Here's a quote:
As she listens, Abby’s EYES DRIFT to OWEN’S BARE NECK -- so tantalizingly close to her mouth... Her PUPILS WIDEN subtly, involuntarily -- she catches herself, has to resist her impulses... She stiffens, pulls away, afraid.
This scene is kind of reminiscent of a scene from the novel where Eli almost bit Oskar but it's not exactly the same.

After reading the script I rewatched the scene - I don't see there any urge to bite Owen. Maybe you do. Apparently the director's concept changed.

What do you think about it? You can read more about the scenes from the script not included in the film in the article I wrote: https://let-me-in.fandom.com/wiki/Let_Me_In_screenplay

I honestly wish this scene got included. It's amazing that LMI included references to the original book not shown in the original 2008 film, like a mention to Tommy and a deleted scene that reveals why Abby was transformed

Thanks for the comment!

I agree. I like horror motifs and would very gladly see this little detail in the film. I liked the similar scene in the book.
