Excellent observation -- I never thought that the the presence of blood on Eli representing his vampire aspect, which Oskar clearly accepts as he hugs and kisses her despite Eli being covered in it.
He probably also felt like a big jerk, too.

We only see Oskar's face in that hug. I would've liked to have been shown Eli's face, as its recipient.

The sound of a kiss is not so loud as that of a cannon, but its echo lasts a great deal longer.

Thats true... i think this scene is also done really nice in "let me in" where we see abbys face when owen hugs her. she looks really weak (maby from the loss of blood), but also really happy.

I agree. I also found the arcade scene, candy scene, and deleted turning scene to be powerfully done.

Sorry, I don't mean to turn this thread into a full blown Let Me In discussion :)

:D yahaha
but your absolutly right. this scenes are really moving and powerfull, especially the deleted scene where abby gives owen the vision of his/her castration

that brings me to the deleted scene of LTROI where oscar and and eli are fighting. i rewatched it under the aspect of the use of hands, and now i find it even more perfect. in my opinion its a pity that this scene isn't in the movie. the part where they are hissing at each other is so adorable  but maybe the scene works only for its own and it would have interrupted the flow of the movie hmmm... i dont know... i guess thats why i'm not a director
