Welcome Dominic.
I myself have the same opinion on the bloodbath matter, there is actually another thread somewhere where we've discussed this that you may find interesting but I can't for the life of me find it at the moment, even looking through my post history, Sorry.

I'll get back to you on it though.

Eli most plausibly rested in the bathroom the morning after Oskar had come visiting, otherwise his warning in the note to Oskar would seem rather strange. But why would he be in the bathroom, if not to rest in the tub? The simplest explanation is that he always rested there.
However, his appearance as observed by Oskar certainly is a contradiction to this. He was dirty, but not
that dirty. A slight inconsistency in the novel, I'd say.

But from the beginning Eli was just Eli. Nothing. Anything. And he is still a mystery to me. John Ajvide Lindqvist

Welcome, Dominic. I don't have much to say about the novel because I'm a film-only/LTROI-only fan. Except for Let the Old Dreams Die. I have that in English and Swedish (with which I struggle). Dynamite story! As moving in its way as LTROI. But I enjoy learning things about the novel from posts on this exemplary forum.
Illustration artist? I yearn for some new LTROI art. I hope the film and book inspire you in that direction!
Also, what is it about LTROI that got you infected, and what led you to this forum?

To the moderators - I hope its okay when i tell about this in this Topic here - i have seen no newbie section so far - so i go on..
Thank you Don.
I must confess that I totally missed 'Let the right one' in when the movie was in the cinemas. There was no big promotion as far as i can remember
and back in this time I was totally focussed on my child who was born in late 2007. Indeed I discovered a trailer of the movie by accident just one or two months ago.
After the Twillight Saga I was relatively off of that genre with exception of the works of Anne Rice. But I quickly realized that this story differs from the mainstream vampire-stories we were used to see or read. I cant explain what it was - the calm music that underlies the clips i have seen, the style of the pictures. Maybe the the basic story of the two so very different main-characters finding love for each other. I was .. heavily attracted to this movie. You could say 'like a moth that is attracted by the light.' I was reading some critics about LTROI somewhere which told that watching it would almost feel somewhat like 'meditation'. It has a quite similar effect to me.
So when something has really caught my attention im turning into an avid collector of information and last but not least it was leading me straight to this forum. Im glad that there a so many likeminded people here.
