Deleted Scenes

Post by Sam » Tue Sep 29, 2015 2:41 pm

I guess on the DVD is a collection of deleted scenes. I watched the movie on Netflix, so I don't know. But on a famous video tube, you can simply search for the deleted scenes.

One of those I find particulary interesting. Oscar is angry at Eli because of all the lies and whatnot, they "fight", which means they grapple and roll around. It looks very amateurish, but it's fitting. The books explains what is happening here. They fight, very focussed not to hurt each others. But at some point Oscar hits Eli in the face. Okay, its not nice to beat girls (wow, how sexist is that. Its not nice to beat ANYONE), and maybe that is the reason why they cut it.

But I think it's an incredible loss, since what follows is like the cutest scene in movie history. Both lie on the floor, looking at each others, hissing. I can watch that ever and ever again. They are cute as 50 two-weeks-old kittens.

It's a shame it didn't make it into the movie. Anyway, if you didn't know that, watch them.

Yeah i have the us Blu Ray version with that on it. It's definitely their cutest scene they
have together. A few members drew it and sent it to Lina, and got a thank you on response.

I think the bulleri bulleri bock scene would have showed us that they really did play together like two kids. I think leaving that scene out means we don't have as strong a foundation as we might have for why Eli came back -- the joy she feels when they are together -- to play like kids, beyond walking around or talking on the jungle gym.

Yes that scene is so cute

Let Me In also has a great deleted scene, but be careful, it gets loud toward the end...

I get why it was cut, though. While it works in the pacing of the novel, we already have one scene where Oskar is being kind of a jerk to Eli (the business with accusing her of stealing money and leaving "if I may") and I think including this fight would have really hurt our sympathy for Oskar IMO. Which is indeed too bad, but there would have been no way to otherwise include that little bit afterwards.

which kind of shows to me that going with a scene that showed how Eli became infected, as originally planned, would have been a mistake.

Which is the word (in svenska) Conny uses to Oskar when he es bullying him in the bathroom?
He doesn´t say "Skrik Som En Gris"

Yeah, Trige, that's what I'm talking about. I wish they had trimmed some other scenes (like Lacke wandering around Eli's apartment for way too long, or maybe Jocke in the ice). Not saying cut them, just trim them. The bulleri bulleri bock scene could have fit in, although I understand that the slap wouldn't have.
