If I understand things correctly, Showtime bought the rights from TNT. However, Showtime is essentially doing a complete reimagining of the story. They haven't kept anything from TNT's scrapped version. Different script, different story, different characters, different actors.
The TNT version was planned to take place in Vermont. The Showtime version will take place in New York. TNT had 15-year-old Henry and Eli, Showtime has 12-year-old Isaiah and Eleanor. TNT's version of Håkan was the pedophile Matheus, while in Showtime's version it's Eleanor's biological father Mark. And so on.
JAL wasn't involved in the TNT version, and when the Showtime version was first announced, a news article was posted on JAL's website stating that he's not going to be involved in their version either.
De höll om varandra i tystnad. Oskar blundade och visste: detta var det största. Ljuset från lyktan i portvalvet trängde svagt in genom hans slutna ögonlock, la en hinna av rött för hans ögon. Det största.

Thank you.

So the next obvious question is ... what TV show is John writing for?
"For a few seconds Oskar saw through Eli’s eyes. And what he saw was … himself. Only much better, more handsome, stronger than what he thought of himself. Seen with love."

Right now it's unknown, since he has stated that he's not allowed to say much about it (which is standard for movie and TV production).

Ah. So there's no Let The Right One In tv show with John's writing as far as we know. Shame. :(

John-meister...

So happy to "see" that you and yours are doing so well. Am also happy that you are continuing your kind tradition of remembering us Infected. May fortune continue smiling upon you.

*two thumbs up*

Good to hear!
My dad recently purchased The Kindness and said it was truly great, so I'm def. gonna read it when I have the chance.
For me it's more real than most of what's going on
