Honestly, while I'm mostly excited, like at least 94% excited, there is a small part of me that has the slightest bit of trepidation.

What will it be like to see Lina on the screen, but not be looking at Eli?

Well, I have always said it in the IMDB boards and I will say it here.

In general, most of us are enamored by Lina's role as Eli. There is this character of Eli standing between us and the reality that is Lina Leandersson. It is a reality I believe Lina has already come to terms with. I'm sure she knows of this board and she knows that she may forever be linked to this character that she is famous for.

In the end, we must come to terms that she is an actor rather than a character.

Oh I know this and completely agree with it.

However, that doesn't change the fact that for me, it might be a little strange. This is partially because I haven't seen her in any other body of work, so I associate her almost completely with Eli.

I most definitely want her to have all the success in the world, and considering the amazing performance she gave in LTROI, I think the sky is the limit.

But still, it will be a little weird.

I don't think she feels a strong connection to the story anyway. For a few weeks back in 2007 she worked on bits and pieces of it, in a "professional" capacity, and that's basically it. I'm sure that when you're 14½, the stuff you did when you where eleven seems like an eternity ago. For example, when asked if she had read the book, she said "yes, a looong time ago" (it couldn't have been more than two years).

Lina has changed a lot since then, so for me it doesn't matter because she doesn't look like Eli anymore.

I must say that i somewhat agree with you, but not totally. LTROI is an amazing film and Lina is great in it, her character is very interesting, but what makes me want to follow her career is more than that. I have to be honest, if she was ugly and/or not talented and/or had an horrible personality, i would not have the same interest regarding her. The truth is she seems to be a very special person, very nice and classy and she is an European too, so all those factors explain why she is one of my favourite actress and i want to follow her career. Strange to say, but i feel a strong attachment to her, like if she was my daughter or a very good friend. That's just my view.

Are you ready for this? Yesterday, there was a small addition to Lina Leandersson's article at Wikipedia about her new movie role. Today, someone has deleted it.

Maybe Wikipedia needs to make their site more difficult to edit????

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. Hate to revert a fellow infected. My reasons for doing so was that the information has yet to be reported by a reliable source. This tiny production company has basically self-published a claim that they have cast Leandersson...ehrm.. I mean Lina. It is strongly discouraged to use a self-published source as a third-party reference for information about a living person.

Again, there was absolutely no ill will behind the reversion. It's just that in the event that the production company's claim is unsubstantiated, it'd be unfortunate if Lina's Wikipedia article helped propagate the rumor. Just erring on the side of caution...

Hope you see where I'm coming from with this.

It's not the connection she has with the story or the character. It is OUR connection between the story and the character.
