And, of course, since I am a slave to all things involving this film, I will be buying it, even though I JUST got LTROI on Blu Ray, and still have my DVD of it.

Prediction, Either Before or After the Release of Let Me In:
Who's with me in thinking that sometime around when Let Me In hits theaters, they're going to do a DVD/Blu Ray double-dip and re-release Let the Right One In with more bonus features (like the commentary track from the UK release, for example) and "free" movie cash to see the remake?
And, of course, since I am a slave to all things involving this film, I will be buying it, even though I JUST got LTROI on Blu Ray, and still have my DVD of it.

Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again: money usually determines what does or does not get done in this world. So if there's money to be made, you could possibly be right.
However, I don't have a blu-ray player, so they won't be seeing any of MY money.
Besides, I bought a copy of the UK DVD with the commentary.

I got the Swedish and the English bluray (Eng. commentary plus deleted scenes), so they're through with milking me. But they did a good job.

If they did a Criterion DVD/Blu release around that time then I would be Ecstatic
I actually hope there would be another DVD, apparently there were more deleted scenes out there that didn't make it in and I think they'd be kind of cool to see. Plus I'd love to see more on how they did the Pool Scene (which they briefly showed in that "Behind the scenes" feature on the Region 1 DVD)
As for the commentary, well I do have the UK Blu Ray so that doesn't phase me too much
It would be cool if someone did a double dip somewhere down the line though...hint hint I want it to be a Criterion release

Yeah, that sounds about like the typical marketing ploy to me.zephonate wrote:Who's with me in thinking that sometime around when Let Me In hits theaters, they're going to do a DVD/Blu Ray double-dip and re-release Let the Right One In with more bonus features (like the commentary track from the UK release, for example) and "free" movie cash to see the remake?
Oh me too! From what I've seen of Criterion's efforts I have been very impressed.danielma wrote:If they did a Criterion DVD/Blu release around that time then I would be Ecstatic

Though I would absolutely LOVE a Criterion release (no matter how much it costs), somehow I'm not too confident they'd pick it up. Don't know what gives me that feeling.
How good is the commentary track? I can only imagine, seeing as I don't have a DVD or blu ray player with the proper region coding to view a copy with it on there.

The commentary is really good. It answers a number of questions that are asked on the Forum. I have the regular DVD (UK) with the commentary. Don't know what your financial situation is, but region-free DVD players can be had very cheaply now. I bought a region-free Philips last year for less than $100. Got it through Amazon.com.zephonate wrote:Though I would absolutely LOVE a Criterion release (no matter how much it costs), somehow I'm not too confident they'd pick it up. Try here http://www.let-the-right-one-in.com/woofy/ I believe that the site owner has put up a transcript of both the UK and Swedish commentaries amongst other thingszephonate wrote:How good is the commentary track? In total disregard of any moral, ethical and legal implications of doing that, I must addAurora wrote:I believe that the site owner has put up a transcript of both the UK and Swedish commentaries amongst other things
Still, it's a useful resource (I own the DVDs so my conscience is clear).
