I hadn't thought of it until reading this thread, but in the second "Frankenstein" movie there is a definite parallel between the Monster & the Blind Man and Eli & Oskar. As with Oskar, the Blind Man is desperately lonely and, as with Oskar, when he encounters his "monster" he can't see the beast that others would see. He only knows that now he has a friend. And as with Eli, this friendship, this unconditional acceptance, has a positive affect on the Monster; like our child vampire, the Monster learns to trust, learns to love, and becomes more human.

There is one charcter in a animated feature called Secret of Kells that reminds me of Eli. I have not actually seen the entire movie, only some scenes there this character is present. From what I can gather the movie is about a boy who befreinds a forest spirit named Aisling. This clip should bear some similiarities with LTROI.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZm1kVnZ7hk

In a short story that read as a english homework the main character also reminds me of Eli. The short story is called Pigs can't fly and is part of a novel by Shyam Selvadurai called Funny boy. The short story is about a feminine boy who rather play with the girls rather than the boys, but who are forbidden to do so by his parents who is afraid of him turning gay. This alone shouln't be enough to remind me of Eli, but then the story is named Pigs can't fly, I was already thinking of LTROI since I read the title.
I got to check Secret of Kells out. That does look interesting.

I just check out that movie after reading this post and the movie is pretty good.

Boo Radley in To Kill a Mockingbird. He is a monster shunned by society and he does rescue the kids from the bully at the end of the story.

I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.

Only visually - Fuchsia is far from being a vampire. But something about the look...

Pippis father was "captain" over the ship "Hoppetossa", he was also the "fat white chief" of the "Kurrekurredutt" Isle.

I saw that movie online afther I saw LTROI: Yeah, in some ways it kind of reminds me of it. Eli and that fairy girl have the opesite of colors. But, they are both alone and all. And that redhaired boy was told not to go into the forest again. But he does so anywhay, to see her again. I dont get the feeling that love is the think keeping those two children together. But friendship is there, no doubht.

Ill probably be burned at the stakes for implying that he is a fictional character
...but, Lucifer
... she looks like a kid who has just been overindulgent with chocolate cake or a messy candy bar...
I could just picture Arnold planting a bloody kiss on Oskar telling him "I'll be back."

She is Misaki Minato, from the manga "Blood Alone". She is a 10 year old vampire that reminds me of PeteMork's Eli. If her friend had dressed more neutrally, she could pass for Oskar.

This is Misaki's "Oskar", Kuroe Kurose. (No Håkan stuff here, but some of the situation would never fly in real life)

This is a link to some of the stories... "Blood Alone 0: Extra - Kiss in the Moonlight" is alot like some of the fan fiction involving an unturned adult Oskar and Eli. I could see them acting out the same scene.
