Agreed.

If Alfredson did Let Me In it would be The Vanishing all over again.

Just for pants-peeing laughs, I think I'd love to see M. Night Shyamalan do a remake of LMI.

I think both LTROI and LMI will age gracefully over time.

Right on man! I have a funny feeling that LMI will do well in DVD/Blue-Ray sales.

Yeah, that would be interesting to see him to remake of LMI.

I think Foreign countries and their film industry should embrace American remakes. It's another way to generate revenues, and help their film industry's survival.

the money they get from Hollywood they should use to fund new projects. no shame in that.

Here's Tomas Alfredson on Sweden's dying film industry:
Alfredson’s family has form when it comes to these things. His brother, Daniel, is also a director, and has adapted two books from Stieg Larsson’s phenomenally popular Millennium Trilogy (The Girl who Played with Fire, The Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest) for the screen. Their father is a famous film and television personality in Sweden. But despite their shared success, Tomas is downbeat about the family business. ‘Swedish cinema is in trouble. It’s all the piracy. So many people in Sweden just download their movies for free that it’s draining the money from the industry. It’s becoming more difficult to get anything made. That’s one of the main reasons why I came to London.’
but the UK film industry is dying too.

Yeah, then the movie would be PG-13 and be at least 2 1/2 hours to watch and we would all get bored. LOL!

I have to agree with you there. I know I said this countless times before, but if it weren't for LMI, then I wouldn't have discovered LTROI and it's book. The book is pretty good and I love how the characters interacted with one another. I remember when I seen the American version of The Ring and I thought that movie was pretty good and I checked out the original and that movie was pretty good. I have to say, I do feel bad for the movie industry both in the UK and in Sweden though.
