I agree. These were all the creepiest parts for me, too.Casper wrote:Well I knew about the showdown between Eli and Zombie Hakan before I started and dreaded it the whole way through, and Hakan was indeed horrifying.
The part where Eli is affected by morphine and hallucinates
The part explaining the atrocities committed against Eli by Blue Eyes and his creepy fat helper.
And for some reason, how Eli describes the cheese in the old lady's home, I could almost feel the nausea.
Which scene in the book creeped you out the most? (Spoilers)

The most intense scene in the book for me?
Definetly the Zom-kan & Elias confrontation...that scene was rather intense to read.
Creepiest?
Believe it or not, its two scenes
- The whipping of Oskar (creeps and saddens me for SO many personal reasons)
- The Pool Scene "Better take a deep breath" always gives me a spine chill and creeps me out

One of the creepiest part for me is after the whipping of Oskar.. when he's left alone on the ground and then walks to the toilets and look into the mirror and puts the "pissball" as a nose and start talking to the "clown" in the mirror... and the clown responses.

Creepy? Or maybe upsetting for me.
When they make Oskar squeal like a pig in the toilet at the very beginning of the novel. Actually all the unhappy scenes involving Oskar in the novel. Oskar's fantasies about murder. The scene with the piss ball mentioned above which is not creepy so much as sad. Oskar sobbing hysterically after he has been whipped by the bullies. Oskar asking Eli to stop playing when she turns into a beast at the sight of his blood in the cellar.
Most of all, it is the scene when Oskar suspects that Eli is a heartless monster, and not the person she claims to be. That is creepy.

I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.

Zombie Pedophile was one.
Castrating Elias was another.

I would have to say, it's the whole segments with Hakan and the vampire with the wig. I like the book, but the stuff with Hakan and what the vampire in the wig did to Elias makes me sick to the stomach.

The scene where Hakan and some other guys were in the room they rented, and were with the child prostitute. Hakan didn't to it, but the boy was pushing head toward his private and the guys were trying to make have oral sex with him. that was majorly disturbing!!! also, the scene where Virginia arm caught on fire and burnt. Those were quite nasty!!!
We fell in love despite our differences...and once we did, something rare and beautiful was created.

the three most horrific scenes were for me:
-the castration of Elias.
-the library scene - I came very close to stopping reading it altogether.
-undead Hakan attacking Eli.
An honourable mention: The cancer woman.
