I'm beginning to question how much stuff is actually like LTROI or if my obsession just allows me to find/see things that I can then relate back.

My thoughts exactly. I often find myself relating movies, books, and even music ("Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult comes to mind) to LTROI as a result of my obsession, even if the connections are hopelessly obscure.

The fact is, there is nothing out there quite like LTROI, the book or the movie. That is why all of us are so "infected" with it.

Hey, that's not fair (and a little culturally insensitive)
US movie audiences like to watch US movies, as most countries do.
I haven't watched LMI yet, but from many accounts it's also well made, and has made lots of money for all involved.

Lol I was completely joking (I am American after all). I actually found it to be an excellent movie on its own. And believe it or not, I actually watched "Let Me In" before watching "Let the Right One In" or reading the book. So, I guess I have to give a lot of credit to the remake for introducing me to the whole LTROI story in the first place. Without it, I probably wouldn't be infected right now.

One of the more obvious differences between the two is the cinematography, from the clips I've seen of LMI.
US films like to use a heavy brown hue and very low lighting, whereas LTROI looks like it was shot under a 200 watt lightbulb.
Stylistically, that's hard to accept for US audiences used to the US film style.
There's also long (European style) scenes of 'nothing much going on' in LTROI, which would be alien to US audiences used to a different editing style.
But the two film's similarities make it obvious that LMI was a remake of LYROI, and not a new adaptation of the novel.

When did you see LMI then? And one thing I do fint very interesting is what you (as one who first saw LMI) thoght of the movie on it's own.

I can not recall any other simmelar movies, I have viewed some of the films on the list. ¤ films.. Soem of them I have seen before, or school or by a tip.. But I have to admit, I do have a sence for these LTROI-ish movies.
