Welcome aboard! Getting hooked on the soundtrack is a sure sign that you are "infected." Hope you enjoy the content here (there is hardly a single aspect of LTROI that has not been analyzed), and the fan fiction as well!KennyW wrote:Hi all, been a lurker for a while and decided to register! Anyway, I was perusing through some top horror film lists about a month or two ago (not that I'm actually a big fan of horror but just wanted to read up on horror films for some reason that night):
http://uk.movies.ign.com/articles/662/662450p2.html
This definitely caught my eye - simply because the rest of the films on the list tended to be slasher/zombie/gorefest/really scary whereas this sounded...different. A few minutes later, just searched for it on youtube - found the pool scene, and then realised the rest of the film was on youtube in 12 segments...watched one bit, then another and then another...mesmerised by the beautiful story. I was incredibly intrigued by the open ending (I was probably influenced by the original article I read above) and found out about the "Let the Old dreams die" spoilers (what can I say, I wanted to know the canonical ending!) on this site at around 2:30 am that same day...
Suffice to say I ended watching it again the next day and was so impressed that I bought the Blu-ray on Amazon - my first blu-ray too! - (well, it was only a few more £s than the DVD and such a good film felt it deserved a little bit extra...)...such a treat to see on the TV, crystal sharp picture and sound...particularly after watching it on youtube! I've not watched it for a few weeks now as real life got in the way but have been perusing through the forums regularly and recently started reading through the fanfics at the moment - I particularly liked Wolfchild's "Letters" and his interpretation of Eli's inner dialogue. Anyway, the main theme is usually my music of choice these days when clicking away at a spreadsheet at work (Eli's theme is very good, as in Oskar in Love, Eli and Oskar, Then we were together, um...they're all good!) as it helps focus the mind. Well, that's my story - certainly nothing especial, but the film is special to me.

Re: How did you discover LTROI?
It was 2008,I saw the Italian trailer the night very late, in Italian is titled "lasciami entrare", I knew nothing of the plot, but the sentence in Italian is perfect, I knew that the vampires had to invite into our house, it was a story vampire, it was clear!. I saw the names of the actors, Swedish ..., a Swedish horror.. really unusual!, you will be mine!

Re: How did you discover LTROI?
I used to have dreams and day fantasies about vampires from since I was firstly exposed to them, via the "Lost Boys" movie. I was also fascinated by the concept of child vampire as depicted by Claudia from the "Interview...", although I did not like her character at all. One day I had a dream/fantasy about a young vampire girl, a child, turned by accident in 19-th century Russia, woken up from her long slumber in a swamp by invading Nazis in 1941. I was wondering how useful would a vampire be in a guerrilla warfare. Yeah, I know it's weird
So, I googled up the idea with some simple query. I usually do that when I dream up weird things like that, to see if there are people who had similar ideas or experiences, or if there are discussions on that on the Net. So, the LTROI trailer on Youtube was one of the links. The rest you know.

You need to write that vampire story! That is a great premise. Can I use it?WhiteBackground wrote:I used to have dreams and day fantasies about vampires from since I was firstly exposed to them, via the "Lost Boys" movie. Saw the trailer for LMI, read up on it, saw it was based on the Swedish movie, so I watched that > was deeply haunted by it for two weeks > bought movie and book > read book > forum > infection, etc.

Hi there!
I just discovered this forum but I'm not very used to express myself in English, so sorry if sometimes I sound weird...^__^U
I first heard of LTROI (Déjame entrar in Spanish) when it hit the theatres back in 2009/2010 and finally saw it on TV a few months ago. It's the most wonderful movie I've EVER seen. The music, the characters (especially Eli
)... Just as someone wrote in a review: "it's (a movie) so beautiful that it hurts"
After seeing it I was totally hooked, couldn't go a single day without thinking about it, so I bought the DVD and watched it twice in a row that same afternoon. Some months later I got the book and read it in 48 hours (it's very good but I prefer the film) and a couple of weeks later I bought the soundtrack. Then, looking for some videos on youtube I came across this forum, and... here I am!
Greetings from Spain!
