An Eli-face

I just came across this face. Disregard the colour of the hair - wouldn't this be very close to what novel Eli might look like?

But from the beginning Eli was just Eli. Nothing. Anything. And he is still a mystery to me. John Ajvide Lindqvist

No pun intended of course. Snaps was quite taken with this artist and wanted the child to play the role of Theres from Little Star. Perfect for Eli of course, although I can't speak to the acting skills.

For me it would be important that Eli be androgynous.

I'll break open the story and tell you what is there. Then, like the others that have fallen out onto the sand, I will finish with it, and the wind will take it away.

I guess it would have been pretty shocking to learn that Eli and the actor who played him were both guys.

Wow, that's pretty cool.

Yes, this is close to what I think Eli would look like. With black hair, no makeup and some signs of having a terrible life... this picture in personality is as far from Eli as you can get, I think ;)
I was more surprised to find out that he was Swedish than that he was a boy. I expected that, but I thought he would be Japanese. Very interesting.

For me it would be important that Eli be androgynous.
"Round face, small nose. Like one of those paper dolls in Hemmets Journal." In fact nothing like Lina.
I think I'd have to throw my weight behind a more androgynous looking Eli too.
Perhaps like this-

Yes, like that. I agree.

As for Yohio... an interesting persona and act. I wonder how long he will be able to maintain it. For a while longer, I suspect. But sheesh, he looks like he could use a milkshake or a good steak dinner.

Although I think Lina makes the perfect Eli, there is no use denying that the film and book differ in the appearance of Eli.
To me Lina is and will always be Eli, whether or no you go with the androgynous feel she was the perfect actress. However, if you want to go by the book's description Lina is nothing like Eli and there are many actresses that would fill the role, maybe not as in depth but as true to the character layout. IMHO Lina Leandersson is the perfect casting choice but to each their own.

I agree that Lina will always be Eli for me too. I can't imagine anyone else in the role.
And I guess I have to secretly admit I think she's absolutely beautiful.
