I think they could find some child actors whose talent is on par with Lina and Kare, and whom we would come to know and love just as much.
I agree. I would gladly watch a sequel of the same quality as the original. But it seems impossible. For some time now i´ve searched for similar movies. Not movies about vampires ofcourse. Dramas and so . Something with similar mood / impact on my feelings like LTROI does. To this time i had no luck to find something worthy. LTROI set the standard so high . High above the clouds.
If I might be so bold, for "impact on [your] feelings" have you seen 'A Tale of Two Sisters' (Korea 2003), or 'Shutter' (Thailand 2004)? Two very different films than 'Let The Right One In', and different again from each other, but they certainly had an emotional impact on me. As with 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'.

Just suggesting.

LTROI was actually pretty successful, making back it's budget three times. Producers are definitely more interested in Tomas and JAL at the very least. I'm sure if JAL wrote a follow-up novel they'd jump on it immediately.

You know, there is a door opened for that. The kid left crying at the pool after the Eli incident could have been bitten. The story wouldn't have to include Oskar and Eli. It would need a good title..."Let the Right One In...Again" :D

Here's a few ideas...Let The Right One In: Breaking Dawn, Let The Right One In: This time it's personal, Let The Right One In 2: Electric Boogaloo...
The world absolutely NEEDS a sequel...
